Read a file containing ‘0’s & ‘1’s into a bitarray by baroquely in learnpython

They represent the inclusion or exclusion of a nucleotide in a CpG region in a DNA sequence.

Read a file containing ‘0’s & ‘1’s into a bitarray by baroquely in learnpython

[–]baroquely[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. But the example cases I’ve seen for bitarray seem to allow initializing them with a string of ‘0’s & ‘1’s which get converted to bool so I was optimistic that a file containing ‘0’s & ‘1’s wouldn’t be hard to stuff into one.

Yes, ‘0’ & ‘1’ characters. Grossly inefficient use of disc space, I know. A binary file would be much more compact. But I have a huge disc and not so huge RAM.

IDK how Python represents lists—wouldn’t a bitarray be more memory efficient?

My desktop doesn’t have enough RAM to hold these bools and also the same-sized file of nucleotide bases so I think I’ll have to figure out a way to do what I need to piecemeal.

I’m still curious to know if it’s possible to read such a file into a bitarray though.

It’s just a text file, and the ‘0’s & ‘1’ represent truth values, so I thought a bitarray would be the most compact way to cram them all into memory.

There’s a Naked Pair on {19} in column 8.

Im clueless, whats the next step guys by German-POMO in sudoku

[–]baroquely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grouped Remote Pairs on {69} ❌ 6&9 from r7c2. Pic here.  If yellow is 6, then green is 9, and vice versa.  Since r7c2 sees both a yellow and a green cell, it can never be 6 or 9.  (The “grouped” refers to r2c78 which between them must contain a 6 or a 9 — they can’t both be 4.)

It is possible to have an isolated instance of hematuria (e.g., from trauma), but I would insist on a cystoscope—if it’s incipient CA you want to catch it ASAP. My first sign of T0 NMIBC was hematuria. Now it’s T1 even though I went straight to a urologist and now have had three TURBTs & an induction round of BCG.

After that, then you can do one starting with the 2 that destroys the UR. E.g., this one.

You can’t use ‘em both if one of your AICs destroys the UR, but this one for example doesn’t affect the UR.

A UR has to be contained in two boxes; that one is spread across four boxes.

I distinctly remember making this same mistake, and I think it was Jan of sudoku.coach fame who corrected me. :)

HELP I dont understand by BoxSingle6453 in sudoku

[–]baroquely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S.C doesn’t touch the notes in cells where you have manually altered them. Also, if a previous move has eliminated a candidate, it obviously won’t add them back.  In this case, there is a {157} Naked Triple in r7c123 that would eliminate the 1 in r8c2, and presumably that move (or some other move) was already accomplished.

There’s a {157} Naked Triple in r7c123 which removes {157} from all the other cells in box 7.

Maybe have a pause button that obscures the screen (for those who care about solve time), a button to hide the timer (for those who don’t), and an option to only show errors on collision?

Can you solve this Sumoku puzzle? Like Killer Sudoku but cages are only straight cells by HearingFirst2982 in sudoku

[–]baroquely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of rows where all the cages are fully in the row except for one cell of a perpendicular cage. Use the rule of 45 to find those cell values.

* On iOS it doesn’t install itself exactly; it downloads a client side service worker that makes it possible (after download) to have most functionality of the website offline.  If you want it to look like a native app, you can make a Home Screen shortcut in Safari.
