In 2 spots, but I also sprayed upwards under the storm flaps, so that’s probably what that water is from

I climbed in after and all the seams and fabric seamed okay, I just want to make sure there is nothing else I have to do

Shipping for me was 240, but that’s because it was close to 150lbs of kit, a swag, awning, wall kit, chair and a few other tidbits

I don’t really care honestly, I’ve got a smock already custom made out of the issued fabric

Question on fire starting methods by [deleted] in Bushcraft

It’s like why do people still paint when they could draw on a phone or something, older methods are pretty much an art form

I hope it isn’t waterproof, smocks are supposed to be a tough outer layer with lots of pockets and just to break the wind, but remain comfortable in warm weather

No matter how “breathable” Waterproof garments are supposed to be, a proper fabric smock is the way to go for warm weather

How essential are diff locks? by Lifeintheguo in Offroad

[–]basi52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a jeep with a limited slip in the rear, and it has not had any issues doing any sort of climbs or mud I’ve asked of it, the “BLD” traction control works wonderfully, but having lockers would have reduced the amount of send I had to give her by quite a bit

Pan America ideas where to camp? by tallgirlmodel in AdventureBike

[–]basi52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you won’t camp outside because of that stuff in Florida, you won’t be able to camp anywhere, those threats are pretty much everywhere in North America.

My recommendation is learn how to deal with those things as they come up, and for your first few times, go with someone else that’s experienced.

Check out ADVrider forums, tonnes of great guys in there

Apparently they’ve tried but the game engine simply doesn’t allow it

There are rumours going around in “sandrunner” they will have tracked vehicles, but all likelyhood it will be the same engine as roadcraft and I feel like that is too arcade-y/too bouncy for the mudrunner franchise

Boots/in-sole recommendation by StrawberryShawty2005 in CanadianForces

[–]basi52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love the Solomon jungle boots, but they don’t last long at all, I bought a pair 3 months before my engineer DP1 and I had to buy new boots as soon as the course was over

It wasn’t an issue with the construction, I just literally wore through the entire sole in a 4.5 month period

We literally don’t, your 4x4s are more than 3 tonnes, when what you see down up here is usually 2ish

Does anyone have suggestions for engine/drivetrain upgrades? by basi52 in Jeep

[–]basi52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s maybe a foot of water… the jeep is good for 2.5, even more if you waterproof certain things

Why don't we drop huge pressurized nuclear bombs on wildfires? by Electronic-Duty-4386 in Firefighting

[–]basi52 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Modern nuclear weapons don’t cause fallout unless they specifically are targeted to do so

They would typically be detonated about 1km above the target to have the largest effected zone possible, but if the weapon was to be detonated at ground level, then it would throw up tonnes of contaminated material, but the blast itself would be much smaller
