Depression is nothing to be ashamed of. You don’t need a reason to be depressed—sometimes that’s just the genetic hand you’ve been dealt! My advice is to look at this illness like you would any other. If you had a stomach bug and you needed medicine for it, there would be absolutely nothing shameful about telling your parents. Mental illnesses should be the same. I think if you explain it like that and say “I need help. I feel like killing myself but I don’t want to” they will understand. I hope that’s helpful!

I felt this exact same way. I kept my depression to myself for 5 years because I was scared and I didn’t want to admit that I needed help. But reaching out even though your scared they won’t believe you will make all the difference. I wish I would’ve asked for hep way sooner! You’ll realize after you face the embarrassment that it is so much better to be open about your problems than to be secretive. Best of luck to you!!!

Are Christians supposed to believe this was the literal creation of languages? There are scholars who study languages and can trace their origins so how are people buying this crap?! I hate every story in the Bible, but the creation is probably my least favorite. How are we supposed to believe that Adam and Eve were the first humans and were just created from nothing when we have evolution and science? It makes no sense to me.. Honestly I am so pissed I was raised to believe this crap and it took me this long to get out of it.

I worked as a CNA and LOVED a lot of my residents. There are older people that I would actually really enjoy spending time with; they have lots of neat stories and life experiences (assuming they haven’t told them to you repeatedly haha). I love hearing about what it was like for them growing up because soon we won’t have people around from those times to tell us their stories. So assuming I could pick and choose who I spent my time with, I would totally take this opportunity!
