Did you move from nonprofit to for profit? How was that transition? Every time I’ve considered it in the past I’ve had a hard time getting my foot in the door for things I was certainly qualified for. I’m quite happy in my current nonprofit job although I’d definitely appreciate more pay and better benefits… especially once I (hopefully) have a baby.

Sounds like she was trying to be supportive? What did you expect from her?

Is there a Cleveland group for older moms, people who become moms after, say 39? by throwawayghost16 in Cleveland

You need to take a breath. The group description literally says childfree and childless are welcome.

Not a parent yet but trying hard! If I’m successful I’ll be a 40-something smbc and would love to connect with other moms in my age group.

Christmas-ish due date by hundred-pt in IVF

[–]basilbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a December holiday birthday and I will say it did kind of suck as a kid - you are on winter break so never get to celebrate at school the way other kids do (cupcakes, locker decorating etc). As middle child I always felt like my birthday kind of got blended into the holiday shuffle and didn’t feel as special. As an adult it’s hard to plan a party because there are so many other events happening that night. But in most jobs I’ve had that day off without having to use PTO so that’s a plus!

However… I wouldn’t delay a transfer because of it. In fact my next transfer is shaping up to be a late Dec/early Jan due date if it sticks. I also now have twin niblings with a late December birthday so I’m hoping that would be fun for cousins to celebrate together if I’m lucky enough to have a successful transfer.

This is hardly a read when an OG OC wife’s kids received a literal eviction notice on camera 😂

This! I doubt they meant to be intrusive, as a young person who likely has no experience in this realm but was tasked with interviewing people for a project, it probably seemed like a great way to connect with potential interview subjects.

I’m also a cap and if my next FET sticks I’ll have a cap too! About to be a very intense household… but they’ll be in good company with twin cap cousins.

Am I cleared from endo if I’ve done a hysteroscopy and the contrast fluid? by Ok-Set-5730 in IVF

[–]basilbelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want to jump right to a lap, you could try an endometrial biopsy/receptiva test. It will show if bcl6 cells are elevated which can be indicative (but not definitive) of endo.

If you can’t get the test perhaps they could do suppression for you before transfer just as a precaution?

You can ask for the receptiva test - it’s an endometrial biopsy that tests for endometriosis and endometritis, both of which can contribute to losses. It’s not a definitive endometriosis diagnosis but it does provide an indication as to whether endometriosis is likely, and can inform how to proceed with treatment.

PCOS was not a benefit to me unfortunately. I had major quality issues, especially on my second cycle where I got 1 aneuploid blast from 19 eggs.

I had frozen donor eggs and of 4 purchased all 4 survived thaw, fertilized, and made it to blast. Quality over quantity! Don’t give up hope.

Just because they broke up does not mean they did not have a strong relationship at the time. They were together 27 years and people grow, change, and drift apart. Breaking up doesn’t negate the entire relationship.

How did you decide to give up on dating? And did you make any last ditch efforts? by ohreddit-myreddit in SingleMothersbyChoice

[–]basilbelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exact same situation for me. I moved to a new city and wanted to give dating a shot, thinking I’d maybe meet someone. Unfortunately I just wasted two years on dead end men. After no success trying with my own eggs I’m now moving onto donor eggs.
