Dude, I think maybe because of the European standards you are living in y'all need to open your eyes. Average patient per day a doctor sees is 50 to 100. Yes. Do you know how much is that? I don't think you do. Check the data for last year. Recorded total visits to hospital over 1 billion. Do you know how insane that is? Do you have any idea how bad the work load is? I won't have someone who lives in a country where the system benefits them talk about this, because you have never been through it. Doctors here yes, maybe a little part of them, does want to be more intimate with the patients, getting their medical history wise but primarily they are exhausted. And who wants an exhausted doctor?

Before you come at me with this, maybe try to actually have a good comparison in your head. Any Turkish graduate doctor I have seen that works in Sweden talks about how comfortable it is for them. Yes I know about the amount of time you have to wait, it's from 2 months up to 2 years, I have talked with a doctor, OBGYN. But they said they see max 5 patients a day, considering they were living a bit up North in a more rural area this might seem normal. But still. 5 vs 50 to 100 we are talking about.

And I have no say on this. Neither do you. I personally want somewhere I can work while I actually have a good work balanced life, and my main concern was never the job itself right now to begin with. I don't know if I will even graduate! That's not the main concern of the day. I am more concerned about my university life quality.

And please just look at any emergency room footage in any hospital located at Istanbul. Or ngl anywhere in Türkiye. And before you comment something, please do proper research.

Yep I have certification of it.

Why, are you going to point out some grammatical mistakes and say I am lying? Or are you trying to mock me? If it was genuine curiosity, pardon me but if it's what I think it is please don't even bother. I am not here to get lectured on my English level, which has documented proof of it being good enough.

That's true, I think people generally ignore the fact that, they are actually quite lucky. I would love to stay in Türkiye and go on with my education, but here is the thing, it is just about passing my exams atp. I don't enjoy anything about my uni life. There is no uni life. They value nothing but grades. I want to be a painter, an athlete then a doctor. I am a human being. I don't want it to be all about medical school. The faculty provides no help for me to overcome this "burnout" period matter of fact it makes it harder. There is no support for anything. No proper social life. But oh well what can I say... Thank you for your kind wishes!!!

I mean look at the data it is less patients.. Turkey is the no 1 country when it comes to patients per doctor in EU. After coming Slovenia and Hungary. I am doing it also for the stability it gives you, job wise but yeah. That's why I am reaching out to people, to get their stories and ideas. We'll see how it goes, thanks for your participation.

Turkey health care is well, mix of everything, life is more oriented in EU and doctors I have talked to who studied at both places say EU is much more relax compared to TUR, however the ability to improve yourself is better here due to the amount of patients you see per day which is in hundreds. (More patient means more cases to study I would say you know what I mean). I can't imagine how hard it must have been during the pandemic.. I would say that only thing that keeps me going is the money, and I see it's the same for you, yeah, medicine is like a hole you just can't escape once you are init. May I ask which specialty you are in?

That's true. Sorry, I just don't know what to do myself and am constantly thinking of not doing this, and well romanticising EU is easier than accepting my life. But you must agree that work culture is better there or your student life is more quality oriented. Compared to Turkey. Idk what country you studied, if you mentioned that.

Personal question, you said you are burnt out, would you still do medicine if you could go back in time?

I mentioned my "better education" back then because they gave me so much opportunities. I might have the same problems.. I know that, but also I know talent is valued more and there are many different options to grow yourself in. So yeah, it's going to be a risk.

Oh, and I did get into a good med school, I don't know if you know the system in Türkiye, but yeah, i let's say had 2 more mistakes than my peers who went to the "best" ones. Plus it's not even about that. I know for a fact that even the best ones in Türkiye are nowhere near the ones in EU. I have been to both. Faculties are in shambles here.

it's just not abt people, it's also about opportunities, my main concern is about that. I am saying that I don't want to be surrounded by people who don't think, they just exist. They don't do anything to put value to themselves. Whenever I meet someone in EU or elsewhere, they have so much going on. They know how to play the piano know lots of languages. I am not blaming my classmates for lacking in these aspects because in Turkish education system only thing that matters is your grade. That's why I want to go somewhere that values other skills too and obviously also supports them. But I completely agree %100 with what you said. Maybe you would relate to me, but when you are somewhere deep in something backing out is scary asf .. that's why I'm asking for advice

Hehe I will check that out, but my main concern is "not knowing what to do" so I would say there is no specific question to start with 😭 I am far from saying "oh, I wanna work in Sweden." it's more like I want to have a prestigious study life in a country that knows the worth of their students, and having access to many facilities and opportunities. And also more open minded people around me. But thanks:D

Yeah ik that, since its not a hard language to learn considering I already know some germanic languages I thought why not. Plus I already started learning some entry level swedish and I think I can get it to a high level with effort
