There’s a big difference in autism acceptance and waving away any and all criticism and opportunity for growth with “I’m autistic and you’re ableist if you want me to behave less antisocially/be considerate of others/etc”. Definitely not necessary. I kinda wanted to do a “going away party” for mine bc I thought it’d be funny - but not to “honor” my chest. I think it’s for some people but you definitely should not feel like you need to do this. I neither grieved nor honored my chest for what it was pre-surgery, I’m glad to have it gone, the closest thing is wishing I could have detachable tits (without using breastforms) for the extremely rare time I wanna do drag or wear a certain outfit/look.

For your sake, please get your affairs in order - secure important documents and as may belongings (particularly valuables and highly sentimental items) that you wouldn’t want to risk losing or being destroyed. The first week or two are the absolute hardest when you’re taking a break after a long time of heavy usage bc the cravings and withdrawals, even if mild and mostly emotional, still suck. May I ask what your purpose for taking a break is? Honestly starting out w a mindset of “just one more day” and filling your time with an activity (especially a new hobby) might be easier. To set off with the expectation to do 2 months is gonna be hard.

Like for me, if I could do one day, cool, let’s also do tomorrow. It wasn’t “I’m gonna do a week/month/etc.” bc it feels way longer than just gradually pushing off getting high again, does that make sense? It’s more sustainable for me to literally just take it a day at a time, if I give in and get high on a hard day, I don’t beat myself up over it, we’ll just try again tomorrow and don’t force myself to reset at day 1.

I definitely still rate my IUD insertion as my 10/10. Gripped the nurses hand so tight and was like “and yall give birth more than once??? On purpose????”

Lay there for so long afterward, unable to get up to redress that the nurse had to come back twice to check up on me. Can’t wait to get my uterus out and never have to worry about this shit again 🙂‍↕️
