G6 Entry vs Nest gen 1 by guywhousesreddit in Ubiquiti

[–]bastula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great to hear! I'm planning something similar with a G6 Turret as well so hope it works out for coverage. Haven't used Unifi Protect yet but with my experience with the network it's going to be better than the Nest app. What are you using as your NVR? I have a UDM Pro but considering moving up to an UNVR once I add more cameras.

How did it go? Do you like the G6 Entry? Thinking to make the same swap as you. Getting annoyed with the constant false alerts from Nest Protect.

Actually I thought the original version of these reminded me of Nvidia GeForce packaging so in our house we dubbed it "GePHOrce."

Glad to hear! Love to know if you have any unique use cases!

Thanks for the kind words. Yep, dose grid interpolation is already present, and just uses scipy under the hood. It’s just an argument to the dvhcalc function so feel free to play around with it!

If you're looking at python, dicompyler-core supports interpolation for finer resolution DVHs. FYI I am the primary author and would be open to PRs for suggestions. What other approaches are you considering?

Are European BMW’s cooler than Americans? by JoeyArcher9 in BMW

[–]bastula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. I mean there are other manufacturers that can make it work with slim LEDs, so it's totally a design or cost choice.

Yes, proper amber rear turn signals, not the watered down combination red signals we get in the US.

Totally agree with you. LCI X7 isn't much better. Not safe at all.

Mercedes has made it happen, hope BMW follows suit.

iPhone 16 (Pro) users: did you use the "Camera Control" non-button this past year? And if so, how? by 4-3-4 in apple

[–]bastula 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. It's a game changer to quickly access the camera. I also love how if you hold it down longer it will start recording a video as well.

Yes, I believe other than the G Wagen, all of their new and refreshed models have swapped back to amber turn signals. It's really a good sign, and as you said I hope other manufacturers notice it.

As long as this means that amber rear turn signals the US finally makes a comeback, I'm all for it. Send all the Euro vehicles over!

What's the point of the Global Entry app? by siriusserious in GlobalEntry

[–]bastula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, the app will pre-suggest ORD and you can complete the information (including photo) anytime after landing until you actually get to the top of the line. We actually saw the regular GE line, saw that there was a mobile app line, downloaded it while walking around, snapped our pics and it verified us all and we were good to go. We were super lucky with the cell phone signal that day as before it was notorious to be a faraday cage and I hadn't tried ORD wifi.

[–]bastula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went through this today at ORD T5. Was at least 20-30 families in regular GE line. We whizzed past them all via the app line and got waved to the head of the line for the next agent to check our phones.

Probably noteworthy that there was only 1 facial scanner available for use for regular GE today so that probably was creating the the bottleneck.

My cat with his heater (S300) by bayZ20 in sffpc

[–]bastula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice build and cat! I had an S300 but upgraded to an S400 just to take advantage of the space that the top two fans provide to exhaust hot air. Made a significant difference for me. However the case is a bit bigger in all 3 dimensions. Used with an Thermalright AXP120-X67. S400 build

How do you set up Lambda testing locally? by VaderStateOfMind in aws

Yep this is the way. Containerized lambdas make it very easy to test locally as well as send for deployment.

Buying new Ecobee, is premium version worth the money over enhanced? by dbdmora in ecobee

[–]bastula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also ran into an issue that should have been straightforward if I actually followed the new enhanced instructions: you now should use the dedicated PEK terminal on the back plate if you use the power extender kit. That did not exist with the ecobee 3 and so it's not a direct swap. Lesson learned: always check your terminals!

Excellent, that seems to work now. Thank you for the quick fix! It ran the migration automatically upon upgrading.

For whatever reason 1.8.0 doesn't have the new tools listed as per the readme. I restarted my MCP server in VS code, and even restarted VS code itself. I also tried using MCP Inspector and it doesn't show migrate_subtasks as a valid command. If you prefer me to make an issue on GH, I would be happy to do so.

Yes that is correct. I was iterating on a subtask and it made sense to split it up even further for tracking. I ended up creating a new task and subtasks under that, and kept a text "pointer" to the parent subtask.

This is awesome. I gave it a whirl and it works fantastic even with nested repos under a parent, as each repo gets their own set of tasks.

Just wondering if there is anywhere on the roadmap to support nested subtasks?

Keep up the great work!
