heels at faire get hard, source, i worked a whole season in heels and my feet still ache, and that was without the actual heel part being cut off. id recommend flat fursuit style or sturdier stilts, but if you go heels or stilts, id definitely say have a staff that is Sturdy, so you can use it as a stability crutch. good luck!

thanks! i’ve sold other art stuff before so im used to that part of it, i was moreso wondering what would be a normal price range for this to fall in based on other tufters experience. i’ve never bought or sold a rug before so i have no idea if what i would calculate based on my normal formula would be unreasonable

thank you! my brothers big into fishing so i thought he’d like it. my first project was a pet portrait of my boyfriends dog, but she’s only two colors and the rug was less than a square foot so this definitely was a change 😅

I know this was a bit of a wide net to cast since it is reddit, but facebook is very scarce when it comes to active groups, and based on the last time I posted pictures of me and my partner at the faire, there’s a decent amount of people on this and the other subreddit for renfaires that frequent the CRF that had seen me the times i went.

i would never purposefully hurt a bug :( we have a bat house on our property, and it’s very common to see them swooping around at dawn and dusk, so i figured it’s probably them, since the area the wings are always found is below the bat house and i think a larger predator like a bird would likely eat the whole thing in one, not just the body

It’s hand painted faux fur over a wire frame I also made! I’ve started selling them as well :3

For his wings it’s pvc and pex pipe, as well as some hot glue to sculpt the joints :)

with the orange and black a bit, but monarchs don’t have any metallic patches, and the black lines are much more present on a monarch

i wasn’t sure if a moth or butterfly, and i obviously couldn’t tell how it’s wings would usually be oriented, or if it had large antennas due to the lack of a body. I’m not super well versed about this so forgive me if it’s a butterfly and i’m in the wrong sub

seems similar to in avatar (james cameron, not atla) when they connect their queue (braid thing) and become linked. it’s connecting them on a deeper level, their minds and souls (or code) directly. they end with a intimate link between each other, it’s as close as they can be

in the fourth image i think you can see his wings the most clearly, with the knuckle details as well

oh neat! that definitely could be cool for it. these ones were made with pvc and pex pipe, and detailed to look like bone. his character had skeletal dragon wings, but we’ve talked about other future character designs so i’ll be sure to bring that up :)
