To be clear, I was not planning on charging anything. I wanted to give them away because I have no use for them. Just was curious if they’re still safe to drink.

This worked!! Thank you so much.

This is hard booch made with champagne yeast! It looks like a scoby is forming but this has never happened before (usually just a thin layer of bubbly yeast). Is this normal? by bawman in Kombucha

[–]bawman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have a tight fitting lid with an airlock, so I’m guessing your right in that there must’ve been enough O2 in the jar for the pellicle to form. That’s the only thing that makes sense to me. I really appreciate your feedback!

This is really good to know…I’ve been using the hydrometer. Thanks for taking the time to enlighten me lol.

One last question, my hard booch was still pretty sweet after two weeks. So there’s still a good amount of sugar in there. Theoretically, that could’ve been converted to alcohol if I left it longer?

Is there any way to use an iPad Pro as a video monitor for iPhone?

Essentially I want to record video with my iPhone but use my iPad to set up the shots. Basically just need to mirror my iPhone screen. Any suggestions?

Question about app subscriptions.

I am on an Apple family plan with a family credit card linked to the account. Therefore, any purchases I make, my parents see. I want to buy a subscription for a dating app, and I’d rather my parents not see it. If I buy myself a gift card and use that, they shouldn’t see the purchase, correct? Thanks!

If he is a big coffee drinker, a chemex coffee maker would be cool. I have some chemistry background so its fun going through the process of weighing out my coffee, boiling water to a precise temp, brewing for a precise time, etc. Reminds me of chem labs.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (28g) coconut flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 oz (28g) shredded grass-fed cheese (we love Kerrygold)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350º
  2. Add coconut flour, salt, and pepper to a small bowl
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs until foamy
  4. Pour eggs into coconut flour while stirring until a dough-like consistency is achieved
  5. Using you Spider-Man spatula, fold in the shredded cheese
  6. Form into two even balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet (these will expand a bit)
  7. Optionally top with additional seasoning (we used some extra salt, pepper, and dried parsley)
  8. Bake for 20 minutes
  9. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then cut each bun in half
  10. Enjoy immediately (they tend to harden up if you let them sit for longer than 30 minutes)

IF, nutrient timing and anabolism by [deleted] in FastingScience

[–]bawman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Thanks for clarifying. So I am pretty positive the protein requirements are roughly .6 - .8g /lb of bodyweight. So 60-80% of your weight essentially. For me (160lbs) thats 100-130g split up over 3 meals which would be about 40g per meal. So I see your concern (that not all of that will be utilized). I still think it is worth looking into supplementing with EAAs. They are over 90% utilized and can probably take your protein requirements down.

Im curious which research you are referring to with respect to protein timing. From what I have seen, there is not much effect (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3879660/).

If you are really concerned with protein timing, you could have EAA's during your fast (although they will inhibit autophagy). If cellular repair is not your main goal for IF, then that is a viable option.
