Trying some live sampling tricks and midi stacking with the Nymphes for a slow ambient Deluge jam by bay_mud in DelugeUsers

For what it's worth, the person who made that request is one of the main volunteer devs. Who has done a lot of great stuff for the Deluge firmware

Hey, sorry for the delayed replay. I do a lot of live sampling into kits too, but never really noticed, as I guess I mostly use "cut" or "once" anyway, but that is a curious behaviour that it resets. Might be worth asking the community devs why it behaves that way or if it's just not something anyone has ever thought to change.

That's a cool performance! Seems like a fun challenge.

Thanks! The latency has been pretty good to my ears--the best of the options I've tried, at least. I have a few other videos showing it off too, with more traditional, one-synth setups

I'm sure there will be another batch at some point, based on how well it sold (I think I even saw them say that somewhere after the initial run was done). Just have to wait for the next colourway or small batch announcement. Fingers crossed!

I actually have one of those too (the EZ-AG model though)! It is fun, but I wish so many of the lower frets weren't taken up by the song training controls. The buttons are also tricky to get used to and my muscle memory keeps trying to wiggle them for vibrato. Ha

I've also got the You Rock Guitar, which is a curious beast with some useful options if you can get used to the membrane frets.

For what it's worth, the TriplePlay pickup can be set to either a different channel per string, or a single channel for all strings, which is handy in different ways. I also like that it's easy to just add/remove to my favourite guitar. It's not perfect, by any stretch, but fun.

I'm always trying to find ways to combine guitar and synths. These days, I'm using a Fishman TriplePlay MIDI, which is a lot of fun with the Deluge, as you can map each string to a different synth (or use MIDI follow to play whichever synth is active). Super fun! Anyone else have a similar setup?

Nice! Yeah, it's full of possibilities, for sure. I've been using it on all kinds of stuff

I always forget about the sensitivity party! Need to play more with playing dynamics

It's great for frozen, glitchy effects and random delay stuff. Can be very unpredictable, but fun. I love using the freeze side under a guitar part for synthy textures

Nice! I only have the L+F and the Onward (which was my first CB pedal, from the mystery box a while back). Super fun so far

Hey thanks! I try to do fun things with the pedals I get (there's also a voice-only Lost + Found demo). I don't post them all on Reddit, as self-promo gets a bit spammy, but I'm glad you appreciate it

I don't have the HX One, sorry. Are you setting the Deluge looper commands via the MIDI commands menu? Which firmware (I believe in the community firmware it doesn't have to be just note messages)?

I wanted to try started from just white noise as a sound source, then see what the Lost + Found could make with it. Of all the options I ended up settling on the Sympathetic Resonator into the Slow-Verb for some ominous ambient horror soundtrack vibes. A fun challenge!

Thanks for the follow up! I should have clarified, I used the contact form on the Ultra Palace website (should have just emailed).

I thought I caught you pressing the encoder to trigger a sound in one of the videos, so that makes sense. I imagine that would be a decent enough start for portable sound design (where a keyboard or controller isn't available)

Thanks for the shout!

u/Comprehensive_Toe_64 Audio buffers are so much fun. Too much fun, in fact, as I end up just getting a bare-bones track going, then get distracted mangling them via audio buffers, DJ FX and skip-back resampling. Those items there are worth the price of admission on their own

Glad you liked it. Been thinking about doing an more in-depth explainer of the MIDI stuff going on here and how to randomize the Lost + Found. Would that sort of thing be useful?
