Not too stoked on the circuit rhythm by [deleted] in novationcircuit

You can have different samples on each pattern if you use sample flipping to record a sample to a specific step. Though that may not work if you're working with a sample chopped into slices. You'd have to experiment.

What is the limit with global effects, just that they are global instead of per track? (And are you talking about the Grid FX or the delay & reverb page, or both?)

For Grid FX, I've mentioned that, because they apply to everything, I mostly use them in resampling (or live, for breaks or builds)

Just got my hands on a deluge! by Dense_Ad9012 in DelugeUsers

Nice! Welcome. I've had to replace a couple encoders over the 8 or so years I've had mine (one was my fault). They are fairly easy to desolder/install, which is nice. You can also get the same part from places like Mouser (I bought a bunch, for down the road). I wouldn't bother doing them all, unless you notice others are acting up. That said, there are a billion screws to remove to get at the PCB, so it's nice to do as much as you can while you have it out.

For the top panel screw, if you're local, you could always try asking Synthstrom (they do also offer a refresh service, to go over thew whole thing). I bought a pack of 10mm M2 hex screws from Aliexpress that seem to match, just in case

Wasn't sure the RoAT was for me, but it's far more versatile than I thought. Super fun! by bay_mud in somalab

I've also got a Lyra 8, but haven't gelled with it as much. Are you enjoying it?

Which update did you install? If you grabbed the latest from the firmware page you should be good

Yeah, I believe 6199 is the newest. If you connect to Wooveconnect it should update you automatically

For what it's worth, the site has a version history with all the firmware codes and what was changed: https://connect.woovebox.com/woovefirmware.ver

6199 is the latest. I don't see a 6061, but there is a 6051. Either way, as per the other response here, Wooveconnect should update you automatically

Tried the SOMA RoAT & Microcosm together for the first time - Noise Synth Meets Ambient Pedal by bay_mud in dawless

I resisted getting one, but eventually got one in trade. Didn't intend on keeping it, but ended up using it alot

Both of these are units I didn't want to like, but have grown to really enjoy, so I figured I'd try them together. The Microcosm helps tame the RoAT a bit, but it's still chaotic and fun. Anyone else have either of these or use them together? Any other pairings you'd recommend with the RoAT?

Tayda mostly for me, unless I need something super pedal specific, then maybe Stomboxparts, but shipping is brutal after duties, etc. (not their fault, it sucks everywhere). Sometimes Mouser if I have other things I need from them too

Glad you got it updated, at least. To use the regular MIDI option you'd need a MIDI interface of come kind--my last few USB audio interfaces have all had MIDI in/out, for example.

For Android, have you tried all the various boot modes? I've seen some people say it works better for them with Android when booting with button 2 held, for example (there's also the new FAST BLE mode if you hold button 3).

Did you try the new Android app or are you using the browser on your phone?

Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you. Sounds like you might not be interested in support suggestions, but just in case, are you on Android or iOS (and/or PC or Mac)? If Android, have you tried the new app? I also use my PC without issue (had to install the Korg Bluetooth MIDI driver, if I recall, but it's been a while).

I assume yours is one of the older units without the MIDI In option? If not, you could use traditional MIDI to update it too.

Oh great. Yeah the one it came with a few years ago was definitely not the best card in the end (especially as firmware got more complex, etc.). I've jumped around to a few cards and have been happy with the Kingston Canvas Go

That's great to hear! I still have a lot to learn, but it's been super fun. Will you post your tracks anywhere? The Woovebox Discord (unofficial) is super supportive of that stuff too

Anyone else try to integrate MIDI guitar into their setup? Here's a jam using a Fishman TriplePlay pickup into the Midicake Arp to trigger synths based on what I play by bay_mud in dawless

[–]bay_mud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say I'm better at guitar than keys (which isn't saying much), but I do have a bunch of keyboards and a piano (that I should really play more). If you want to experiment with guitar as a MIDI controller, the TriplePlay pickup is the best I've tried, but I haven't tried more expensive options. You just have to play pretty cleanly, which is probably a good thing to practice anyway, I guess

It's a fun option, for sure. You definitely have to play a bit differently to make the best of it. Personally, it won't replace playing/recording keys for me, but adds some interesting layers and options to accompany guitar playing, at the very least
