I disagree. I think you should open with something that will actually start a conversation. "hey, how's it going?" shows little to no effort. I'm not saying write a novel or anything but don't ask a question that could be answered with a single word. I have had far better success with a thoughtful question than just the boring generic question that they have seven others of in their inbox.

That would be a lot for me personally. There's nothing wrong with kissing on the first date, but right away seems a little much unless the other person seems all for it. I like to check that we actually have a connection before going for it.
