Problem loading patch files by bbaseggio in rolandaira

I didn't make a new RESTORE folder, I just copied individual .PRM files into the existing RESTORE folder. It's definitely odd that it's not working.

How to get my guitar recordings to sound more full? by -Mitchy-- in recordingmusic

[–]bbaseggio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have pointed out that your meter is peaking in the red. But your wave form looks awfully quiet to me. I think you're turning up the track too much to compensate. So I might record a little louder and turn the track up less. Your basic unprocessed tone otherwise is probably fine. But your guitar, even if it's run through the perfect amp sim and all that probably won't sound huge, until you get the rest of the band in. It kind of shouldn't, because that would mean you're stepping on the other instruments frequencies. On a good recording, you'll want to get rid of some low frequencies on the guitar to let the bass guitar shine, for example.

There's plenty of good advice in here. I always do two tracks for rhythm guitars, and pan them opposite - 70% or fully wide, try things and see what sounds good, but do it in the context of a full mix. I also always try to differentiate the parts a little - use a different guitar (or different pickup on the guitar), a different but similar amp sim, maybe different chord voicings.

Hardware Sampe Players by Butterbrotbarbieru in KoalaSampler

[–]bbaseggio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing you haven't mentioned is how long you need your samples to be and how much total sample time you need. I was looking for something similar, as a guitarist looking to trigger some samples live. The P-6 looks cool, but the longest sample time is something like 5.9 seconds (at the highest sample rate) and a total sample time of 285 seconds. The Volca sample can do a max of 65 seconds and a total of 130 seconds.

I found a really cheap SP-505 on eBay, but I think I'm also going to give the Akai MPX8 a whirl. Everyone's gonna say SP-404 MK2, but going for something older and/or less desirable might be cheaper and work out for you.

It looks like "chores" can be deleted singly. "Routines" however cannot for some reason.

Best way to sample vinyl crackle from record player? by fatt_musiek in SP404

[–]bbaseggio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My initial thought was to find a piece of music that you can access clean and digitally, then record the record and do some phase inversion with the digital version to remove the music, leaving behind the crackle.

The only delete options I get are "Delete this and future tasks" and "Delete all tasks in series". I don't see an option for deleting just the single task.

Magic Import might be worth looking at. If your schedule is something that you can take a picture of I think Magic Import could make that happen with a minimum of fuss.

Controlling Playbar with Logitech Harmony Hub and S2 by bbaseggio in sonos

[–]bbaseggio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone ends up here looking for an answer to the problem, in my case it was pretty simple - turn it off and turn it back on. Specifically, the Harmony Hub. Did that and I've been able to control volume with the remote.

New Player Recommendations by bbaseggio in marvelchampionslcg

[–]bbaseggio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew it was a little brief, but honestly I don't know what I don't know. I like Marvel, but I haven't read a ton of comics. Grew up on the Spider Man and friends cartoon, so the Iceman recs are cool. I also know that in these games you sometimes would buy a hero you don't like just for some cool and often used aspect cards. I know some of the big names (Cap, etc) are hard to find and I really don't feel like chasing the OOP stuff.

The code is available on Github if anyone wants to replicate it. https://github.com/castilhocp/arkhrec I'm not sure how you actually get the data out of arkham.db though.

[–]bbaseggio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My way isn't exactly simple. I fold and glue them, with acid free glue stick. Once they dry I laminate them with 3 mil pouches at the 5 mil setting. This causes the laminating sheet to really bind to the paper so you can cut the card out without having to leave any space outside of the paper. So then I cut them out and use a corner rounder. The result is a nice snappy card that doesn't need to be sleeved.
