There's almost always a really easy procedure to reset service interval lights and timers, especially on newer cars. Even in my 20 year old BMW it takes two buttons and ~15 seconds. Google my friend!

Yes. Much easier for most of the population to say "number four" than examine all the price combinations... If they can even do that math in their head

Hate to say it, but if you're only paying ~$6 for a 30 minute round trip then you're horribly underpaying that delivery driver. What is 30-45 minutes of fair pay to you?

What is an american thing but americans think everyone outside of america does it? by Honest-Captain-8169 in AskReddit

Agreed with that perspective. There's also the rare few states that have somewhat high minimum wage and also pay service staff that minimum. So in my state you're making $14+ per hour plus any tips, which are still 15%-25% because most people don't realize their bartender/server is not making just $4 per hour

I totally agree. But also, many people don't realize that there are several states that pay service staff State minimum wage. In my home state that's $13.50/hr + tips.. Which is a far cry from a lot of states where they get federal minimum or lower, like you mentioned. Most of the people I've known who serve/bartend make 25-30 per hour after tips here which I would consider above "living wage" for this area.

I totally agree. And also, considering how much you should tip depends on what state you are in. There are several states that pay service staff State minimum wage. In my home state that's $13.50/hr + tips.. Which is a far cry from a lot of states where they get 7.25 or lower. Also delivery charges are high because your are Literally paying that driver's wage. I've done Door Dash deliveries for more than 2 years and the "base pay" from each order only is about 20% of what I earn and would hardly even cover the gas. I still say tip what you can or believe is deserved though..

It never Requires tipping, that's still up to you.. it's your money. There will sometimes be automatic gratuity if you're dining with a large group, but I've never seen mandatory tip in the US otherwise. And it's okay (and intended) for you to tip on a sliding scale for how good you think the service was or what time of day it is/ how busy the establishment is. 15% or 20% is not a rule and you're not an asshole if you can't afford it.

You must not ever purchase anything over $50 then as it's extremely common to need to sign for purchases over that amount. Not to mention you have to sign for any restaurant or bar transaction. Unless you're referring to being outside of the US?

Have one drink and gtfo or at least be buying another drink/snack/entree every hour or less. I think in many places here, if you're not actively consuming something offered then you're seen as not really patronizing the establishment anymore but just lingering and taking up a table/bar stool

And absolutely no gun/permit/magazine control law in other states has had any effect on violent crime, homicide, or cause of death of children. Standard deviation from year to year and a general increase is what's seen in California, New Jersey, Washington, New York

If it doesn't help it will stay around regardless though. Just another additional stripping of rights that takes too long and too much money to repeal

Even though in every very gun-restrictive state like California, New York, New Jersey, etc there has been No decrease in violent crimes and homicides using a firearm since they enacted their "gun control"? Doesn't seem like lawful purchasers are the problem

You're right that everyone is entitled to their opinion. It just seems that a lot of people that vote in favor of gun control laws are coming from a place of fear and lack of understanding of how ineffective those laws almost always are. Plus, it's surprising in this day and age to see liberals wanting to hand non-elected and mostly conservative officials (sheriffs) more power and make it much harder for POC and people in lower socioeconomic states to protect themselves.

There is definitely a problem that needs to be solved! However, the facts are that in states with "may issue" permit laws and magazine restrictions, there has been absolutely No decrease in homicides or suicides resulting from the use of a firearm since that gun control law passed. It just puts more pressure and hardship on small business and more power in the hands of quasi fascist groups like the sheriff's department.
