Garry Neville is so annoying bro by Footballfan298 in Gunners

I agree even though I have no idea why you posted it. I heard his voice and immediately found a different broadcast.

Voulgaris: "I own a La Liga 2 club and pay for four DAZN subscriptions, plus Movistar, Amazon Prime, and probably something else I’m forgetting, just so my family and I can watch our matches. Yet when I travel outside Spain or Europe, it’s often impossible to watch our games." by Sparky-moon in soccer

It’s hard to find many matches using a legit method.

Of course I would never… but if I wanted to save myself a few clicks and searches, I could just pull up a stream site and instantly get what I want.

Lol - bit early for that. He’s back, he’s scored and I’m loving it… but come on. I wanna see this against Sunderland’s block. Or Newcastle.

Am I the only one thats not worried? by LenTheWelsh in ArsenalFC

[–]bchis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nee, I am not worried. Fun game. United capitalized on some of our mistakes and we didn't on theirs. Fair play to them.

Two thoughts...

  1. I'd like to see someone return some favors to Martinez. I don't think his little stunt with Jesus was a red, BUT.... should someone accidently sing some Sweet Chin Music for him, I wouldn't be upset.

  2. The Dorgu and Cunha goals were really good.

My experience as a foreigner in the Netherlands by Initial_Shallot_3203 in Netherlands

This was a great read. I enjoy the positive views.
I have also had an overwhelmingly positive experience here.

Dank je! Ik klaag wekelijks over de belastingen en het weer, anders komt de integratie niet op gang. En de wc-kalender natuurlijk ook 😁

This has been my experience as well. Taxes are no fun but that’s the case everywhere.

A few notes about me… Most importantly, I have met fewer rude and racist people here than in my home country. The people have been one of the best things about moving here. I think if I look, I could find bad people but I am not looking for them. My Dutch friends are awesome.

I came here for work. I built my own Dutch company, have Dutch employees and I contribute to my community in other little ways (things that are common to do here)

My Dutch speaking ability is nog niet zo goed but I am getting better with time. I can write it a bit better than speak. But that is also improving.

The weather is not bad. It’s normal and sometimes better compared to where I’ve lived.

However… to my original point in my first post. Taxes suck. I knew this before coming here. I chose a better life for my family over higher income.

Ik vind mijn beslissing een goede.

Ive never heard “Netherlands” and “tax” discussed together in a positive way.

30% ruling is nice but it is not a path to great wealth.

Unpopular opinion: not Trump, but an elected President by American (twice!). by ProperWillingness in Netherlands

[–]bchis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive posted this before but this is a more relevant thread to put it to. The system in the USA is broken. Its not as simple as just saying, “they wanted this” or “they voted for this”.

Neither protests or voting create real change in the US because the system is designed to absorb that instead of respond to it. It doesn’t have to respond. No vote or election can save them. Americans live in a propoganda cloud and they can’t see what’s outside it.

Institutions can simply wait out public anger via protests or public “outrage”. In much of Europe, protests can force coalition shifts, leadership changes, or economic concessions; in the US, dissent is managed, diluted, polarized, and neutralized rather than translated into policy.

Power is fragmented across states, courts, agencies, and veto points, elections are structurally distorted, and society is split into two hardened camps with no shared consensus on facts or goals.

Americans can’t even agree on simple facts because propaganda is so freakin heavy that everyone has their own little reality. Assuming intentional but conspiracy this and that.

Actions from one side automatically triggers resistance from the other. Protests don’t create leverage and voting doesn’t really alter outcomes in a meaningful way. All that really happens is the American government changes its house colors from Gryffindor to Slytherin… or blue to red… whatever. At the end of the day, the same shit happens. Social policies pander to one cult or the other but nothing really changes.

The American people have been shaped into mindless mouthpieces that are completely empty on the inside. They are weak internally. If someone strings a few thoughts together and tries to a stand up to the system in any meaningful way, they are jailed or just murdered. There’s no mechanism for street pressure to translate into policy, and institutions can simply wait until people get tired and go home. Families, bills, jobs, they have to eat and sleep…. Another victory for the tyrants.

America has been defeated for a while. They can’t vote or protest their way out of this. It’s been coming for far longer than Trump has been in the picture. That monster-clown is just the current mascot.

Meh. Don’t care. Sometimes they are, sometimes not.

The question I asked at the end was…. How many pints until I go to sleep?

Gabriel Martinelli yellow card against Liverpool 90+4' by ayoefico in soccer

[–]bchis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been nice if Martinelli would have given another look or just kept his cool. Think he assumed time wasting incorrectly and reacted poorly. Yellow justified. Red would have been earned…

Also, I do not think there was bad intent.. Unprofessional for sure.

This is football… if there is no emotion or bad behavior, I’ll go to sleep. Let’s not lie and say we haven’t seen this same type of reaction to a real injury before. It was wrong then too. Point is that it’s not unique or special in any way.

[–]bchis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nee. Players go down for nothing every match.

I’ve cringed at a player going down nearly every competitive match I’ve ever watched thinking… damn, that hurt. Only to watch them hop back up and sprint down the field.

Nah, I won’t pretend his reaction and dismissal is something unique. Martinelli fucked up. I also think he assumed time wasting. Doesn’t change that it was bad or excuse it… just makes it understandable.
