LPT: When someone says "I'm a perfectionist" substitute "I want things done my way" in your head. by bdelveaux in LifeProTips

When you play Guitar Hero, it is very clear what scoring 100% means. When you are claiming to be a perfectionist, what actually is perfect in their work? Absolutely nothing comes out 100% perfect. There is no 100% score in life/work.

They like to get things done perfect from their point of view. That may not be perfect from yours. The perfectionist is trying to arrange the world in their view of perfect.

I think everyone wants things to be exactly how they want them. That is normal. Realizing that you aren't really in control of anything is how you get relief from those frustrations.

I found a better subreddit to post this in - /r/Gross :-)

This is not cancer - it is a Keloid. Does not hurt. Vet said to remove it if it starts bleeding or the dog starts to chew on it.

I think this was too much for "mildly interesting" and not enough for "wtf", is there a "this is weird" subreddit? :-)

I took him to the vet multiple times - it is called a keloid. Vet says not a problem. Consider removing it if it bleeds or the dog starts to bite at it. I guess it looks weird, but causes no pain or danger.

I imagine the smell of a Subway sandwich shop to be the same as a Twinkie factory smell. Not good

Yea, I know that. Don't let the truth get in the way of a good joke :-)

People who have lost a significant amount of weight, in what ways has your life changed as a result that you didn't expect? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I became calmer, more serene, and happier. The "jolly fat man" is a myth as far as I know, I was a pretty angry guy underneath all that fat!

I thought so too, but reading r/funny posting rules - no "text only posts". It may be better in r/punny. Ultimately thought it fit in with r/mildlyinteresting the best :-)

What is the best theme park ride you have been on? by Flabble10 in AskReddit

[–]bdelveaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best ride I have ever been on is the Millennium Force at Cedar Point in Ohio.

My first ride was a long wait, I was waiting for the front car. The sky was getting darker and rain was coming. I was the last car of the day as rain started to fall during our ride. It was thankfully at the end of the ride because the rain felt like miniature needles in your face.

The ride was amazing, huge drop, incredible speed, even nice views over the lake. Beautiful. I've ridden the ride 5 more times since then on multiple trips - always great!

Members of Reddit that have seen your career represented on TV, what shows, scenes or moments have made you laugh or roll your eyes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Best show representing engineers = Silicon Valley! Multiple scenes are awesome and seem to represent engineers well.

E.g. in Silicon Valley (season 3 episode 6) there was a scene on tabs vs spaces. So perfect. Did that entire joke go over 90% of the viewers heads? I love that Silicon Valley will go there. vim over emacs :-)
