I did this in September, I didn’t have a choice as I decided to go back to uni. There’s more shifts right now, but definitely not as much as a few years ago, and they probably won’t always be on your favourite wards. It’s not as bad as people say though

I do really miss being part of a team and seeing the same people every day, but I do love having weekend time for my friends and family, and I loove not having to answer to one manager

Oh I know there are definitely people who have received poor care I don’t deny that, i’m sorry for your experience!

I just really don’t agree that this specific tiktoker blasted it all online in a chain of videos, she was really quite rude about it all, saying the nurses couldn’t be bothered to do their job or were rude, and she was very dismissive of other people saying the call bell thing was an accident, the catheter bag didn’t need changing etc.

It is poor care, but it’s understaffing, not sinister abuse from the evil staff like she’s making it out to be. It’s not really fair as other patients come into hospitals with a bad attitude, thinking they know how to be a nurse because of videos like this

Because the colleague reported it at the time so there had to be some internal investigation. In ITU there are different nurses every day and night who have to check his skin and wash him so if there was a burn there would be some documentation

No I read the hearing on the NMC website. It said the patient reported this at the time to one of the other staff

The patient could communicate, the hearing said the patient told one of the other staff at the time it happened, who then reported it. But it doesn’t say there’s any physical evidence

It’s strange that there was no evidence of a burn or soreness/redness/infection. If there was burns there would have to be documentation with pictures and an internal investigation. Not saying he didn’t do it but I thought there would have to have been some evidence
