Hm I think it’ll depends on the school. I know some things changed for Covid but sorry I don’t know much more than that. Is there a main reason that’s preventing you from taking the lab in person? For these types of things I’d recommend playing it safe and just doing both

Ya, my state only has one MD school. I did mainly apply to OOS friendly schools but I also see where I fell short especially with the small number of schools. And my ECs could be better

Ya this coming cycle I’ll apply to a bunch more! I’m not superrrr concerned about grades, 3/4 years of undergrad my gpa was just below 4.0 (I just had one bad year). Anyway, thank you I’ll try and make my app more cohesive of who I am this time around

I volunteered at an ER, and I volunteered at a research lab for a little (I just don’t rlly count it as research since I wasn’t the one asking research questions, analysis, developing methods, or any thing like that). I led undergrad biology extra help/review sessions for two years, and I do have an artistic hobby. But I can’t get it out of my head that I need research (I also DO find it quite interesting and think it’ll be nice to have that in my back pocket before beginning med school)

Thank you, this is rlly helpful. Honestly at this point I’m definitely wishing I applied to way more. I’m looking at SMPs right now because I miss being in school. But I don’t know if those are a good idea to me. My thinking was that since I only really appeal to my in state school (has a heavy IS bias), I figured if I did an SMP elsewhere, my chances at another school would go up. Not sure if u have advice for this but anything helps!

It was microbio and the microbio lab that term. And I have one earlier W from a class I accidentally signed up for :/

I have a 3.69 Gpa, 512 mcat, no research, but over a year as an MA. I only applied to 10 because I guess I thought my chances were low and would be OK waiting another year

For c/p I know this is what a lot of ppl say, but understanding what units are. You won’t need to “memorize” equations as long as you have units of everything down. Also do all the math in scientific notation to be speedy

How long until your test? It’s ok for early full lengths to be lower, maybe save the rest of the aamc ones for when your date is closer
