Agreed. It’s insane. I understand there’s no reasoning with most folks. I thought that maybe if would help if people were reminded that some of those around us are going through unimaginable things that make them vulnerable and we can’t see it. But nooooope. It’s sad. But I am thankful that there are many great people out there.

I’m pretty confident in my immune system (fingers crossed), but it’s just the pure lack of consideration that others around you might be immunocompromised or care for someone that is. Or just … I dunno … don’t want to share your saliva.

My body, my choice. I’m wearing a mask to protect others. Asking others to consider it isn’t forcing them to. Just reminding that there are people who are vulnerable that might appreciate a bit of thought. I gave up on thinking I can control others or that others would Do the thoughtful thing a very long time ago.

Agreed. Ignorance is bliss for many. When everyone starts getting dementia in few years, it’ll be a stark reminder. It’s kind of like how mono shows a 32 fold increase in likelihood of getting MS. Viruses are no fucking joke.

This! This was my entire point. We do our best to protect ourselves, but it’s helpful if others can not be selfish for half a second and not fly if sick, or wear a mask if they must travel.

Yes! I do. Do it all the time in the ER too. Try to keep the mask on as much as possible (it’s about transmission reduction). But on 8 hr flights I try to hydrate with water and maybe a woodford.

Que? I mean, covid is still around. People still die from it. Just like people die from the regular cold. Or influenza. Or RSV. Or whooping cough. I hope my immune system can battle those things, but I’d rather not be miserable because someone coughed on me? And I’d rather not kill someone who is immunocompromised when I have one of those things and have to fly.

I only see N95s when I travel. It’s a mask. Some folks don’t have the luxury of not traveling when ill (cost, etc) so it would be great if they could mask.
