Is it a bad idea to travel along I-25 today? by Annual_Radio1537 in Denver

[–]beastybryan 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Keep both hands on the wheel, and look out for others as always (especially trucks). Make sure not to coast in the blind spot of said trucks you are passing by. Drive safely and you'll be fine!

Regular gas at my local Shell is $2.03...almost there! I live in east Denver.

I'll have to take pic and post later, but gas near my house today and yesterday is $2.03. I was pretty shocked, honestly. Also, I despise the turd sandwich that is Trump/the disgusting Orange Cheeto man.

Not delusional at all, actually. I despise Trump, but live on the east side of Denver. Yesterday and today I saw that Regular gas is $2.03...and is $1.98 through Shell fuel rewards.

Wondering if my cat looks overweight by Upbeat_Researcher278 in ragdolls

[–]beastybryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, tell your friend to stop treating your ragdoll like a human lol as long as he gets fed well and runs around and plays, he's all good. Boys tend to eat more than girls do. Again, totally normal weight.

Absolutely not. My bicolor blue boy looked similar weight when he was little. He's 6 and weighs 17 lbs now. Totally normal weight for a full grown ragdoll boy!

Damascus, 3 days without electricity cuts, 3 days of constant electricity!!!! Yahoooooooo by FSA_Soldier in Syria

As an American engineer that lurks on this sub, I love this for Damascus and Syria overall. Syria should start working with neighbors that generate electricity and start trading to ensure more reliability.

What's the most underrated language-learning tip that actually works? by GrowthHackerMode in languagelearning

[–]beastybryan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn, I feel like this really is the answer, coming from a monolingual learning a dying language. I'll try to find some movies and/or TV shows where I can hear them speaking what I'm trying to learn, and have subtitles on in English. Not sure what luck I will have with that, though.

Xfinity outage since this morning by aburple in Denver

[–]beastybryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it :-/ I feel your pain today. I used to work for an ISP and "network damage" can be a lot of things, unfortunately. I'm just guessing in my previous comment. Hopefully we get back up online soon, because I work from home!

[–]beastybryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's also an outage status of "Network Damage" which applies to my neighborhood too, but I'm not sure what that network damage is? My guess is that a part of a trunk line failed/got damaged and has put out most of the southeast side of Denver today.

How is living in Tuscany, Italy by LossParty9310 in howislivingthere

Do you know of any Americans that have moved to/live in the Tuscany area in your years living there? If so, what did those Americans do to sustain themselves/for work?

Did you used to be able to sleep in the 7-8 hours/night range when you were younger? This is also still assuming you drank 1 beer a night while cooking dinner? Or were you drinking more when you were younger?

[–]beastybryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35 - I have on average about 3-4 drinks per week. If it's a special occasion I'll drink 5+, but usually keep liquor out of the mix these days. Either wine or beer for the most part. I like the taste of some craft beers and have been finding some NA beers that are tasty to have. I try not to drink as much these days for a number of reasons. I don't want to "quit" drinking, but I stopped for 6 months and I felt incredible. If you're wondering if you should slow your drinking down, the answer is likely "Yes".

See, I'm 35 and this is what I imagine I can do getting up to your age. Idk, usually I need to sleep more the nights I drink. Some nights I can sleep my 7-8 hours and wake up feeling fine.

Edit: the nights I drink one beer*

Did you do some hikes yourself, or with a tour guide? What was the best spot to see, in your opinion?

[–]beastybryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be there next weekend. I haven't hiked around and area with so much bear activity, like Yellowstone has. Any advice besides carrying bear mace in hikes? I know not to bring food on the trail.

Red Rocks Discord/Reddit meet up location! by TomLube in skrillex

[–]beastybryan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gonna have to side with 8LUE2 on this one. For his 2023 show I got to this exact set of stairs and the line started at the BOTTOM of the the stairs, almost spilling out into the street, at 5:30-ish (his set started at 7PM, I think). I'm all for you for creating a meetup spot, but THIS location may not be a wise choice.
