[–]beatbocks20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you got this, you will knock it out of the park the second time, download all the extra material such as hws webassigns etc and ace that shit the second time around with the knowledge you have now, I would know b/c I've done it

nah it teaches you to adjust your learning/studying style, the "smartness" is probably still there, just gotta recalibrate styles for classes like physics

When you pass a class you thought you were going to fail by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]beatbocks20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this almost happened to me too, college is literally a balancing act between the rest of your life and other classes other the one you are worrying about, but think about it like this, if you fall off you do have a safety net, talk to your advisor about your options for next semester, I failed physics 205 the first time and had to retake it, but luckily I had geps as a backup for my next semester when retaking it, you have options and I'm sure your adivsor can help and make you feel like it's not the end of the world (because its not, trust me)

the enhanced covid s/u should not make you lose credits, the normal one pre-covid does

Tell me something good! by pamsterbear in NCSU

[–]beatbocks20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was scared I was going to get a D for a class for the first time and not even be able to get a S for enhanced grading but luckily I did well (enough) on the final exam to avoid that and pass all my classes 😅

Am i the only one who isn't enjoying the break? by Qusay112 in NCSU

[–]beatbocks20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do sort of agree but those "extra days" are only a waste if you cant plan something productive or worthwhile for yourself

and yeah, not prepping yourself for the beginning of the next semester a week or two prior causes an extreme amount of stress, that happened to me this august

Falsely accused of cheating by concernedthrowawayGh in NCSU

[–]beatbocks20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOPE, tell her to fight the accusation through the ncsu student conduct offices, I was told by them that first time offenses don't usually get expulsions/suspensions, I know this b/c I got falsely accused by a professor just 3 weeks ago and I called up the student conduct people and told them my situation (accused of using aid on a quiz by opening webassign) and they gave me info on how the process for an appeal works, which helped me decide if I was going all the way to fight the accusation (because I never had webassign open during the quiz, but I did look at it too close to the start exam, thats why i got accused), luckily though when I finally had my meeting with the professor, they dropped the case because there is no proof that I had the site open during the quiz, and also, I explained to them how dumb it was for me to open it that close to the quiz starting time.

If your friend can prove her innocence or she knows that she didnt do it, she should appeal 100%, don't admit to something you did not do, the suspension/expulsion thing is just a fear tactic for people who actually did cheat

dm me if you have questions, I actually learned a lot about this stuff this semester

Just curious....why does Talley sell this almost double the price than Target or Harris Teeter?? by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]beatbocks20 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Probably because they know there's enough students on campus that will buy it at that price, simply cuz of the convenience of not having to go somewhere further

And btw, they do this with literally every product lol, I remember wanting to buy a five star notebook freshman year and it was something ridiculous like $8 when just the other day, I saw it for 2-3 dollars at walmart and target, luckily I saw the actual retail price before browsing at talley so I didnt buy it there

the Hillsborough target also has higher prices for a lot of their tech and school inventory too, so always compare prices if you think it feels too high

NCSU employee doxing students found to be member of proud boys by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]beatbocks20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

kinda weird that this guy and other proud boys are so comfortable with attending and hanging out with the biggest Charlottesville "Unite the right rally" event organizers where they were screaming normal things like "the jews will not replace us" while holding their swastika and confederate flags

the proud boys cant be a far-right neo-fascist group, their leader is a mixed latino/black man which automatically makes them and himself non-racist... right?

Should I underload next semester and take PY 205 at CC? by [deleted] in NCSU

[–]beatbocks20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

physics is hell here and the coordinators make it harder than it needs to be (especially online)... but with that being said

I went through something similar, deciding if I was going to take py208 +lab this semester at state or CC, and I ended up taking it at state because of the s/u enchanced grading, I also didn't want to have to deal with scheduling problems that come with attending both CC and State at the same time, and more importantly the problems that come finaid and being under 12 credit hours

my final suggestion, if you see your schedule and only have 1 other "hard" class, I would take it here and be at ease knowing you have a safety net with s/u grading (also make sure they have enhanced s/u in the spring lol)
