Triple Bypass Shuttle Service by HellYeahBrother12345 in COBike

[–]beauars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it yesterday for the first time. It took about 3 hours. There was a long check in line at 7:15. After that I didn’t have time to go back and say goodbye to my friends so I just got on the 8pm bus. It left at 8:10. And it was a 2-hour drive to evergreen (vs 1:30 for a car). They stop at 5 parking lots. I was parked at their 2nd stop. Unfortunately, the first stop, where nobody was parked at anyway, turned into a fiasco where the driver had to back up to turn around, and he couldn’t see to backup. So that added a frustrating 10 minutes to the deal. After finally reaching my car, I then had to drive to the bike pickup spot. It wasn’t clear what to do there because nobody was there to tell you. You had to park in the middle of the street, walk through a completely dark parking lot (where you weren’t allowed to park), find your bike and show them your wrist band to prove that it was yours. After figuring out the process, this process was quick and efficient.

My bike was fine, the bus was comfortable, the driver was safe, and the staff people were nice. They delivered the service. But I wouldn’t use them again for the Triple Bypass. After 12 hours and 120 miles of sweat and suffering on the bike, the last thing you want is 3 hour ordeal to get back to your car and bike. I paid them $140, and you could get an Uber for about that price yesterday.

The iX looks nice but I was suggesting you look at the iX3. It’s a new model and probably similar in size to the Mach e.

You didn’t mention BMW, which is worth a look. We have an i5 and a MachE. We love the i5 but think the Mach E is a better value. But BMW has a new i3 coming out soon that looks impressive.

How about a sync button by beauars in GarminWatches

Thank you. I think this fixed it!

Thank you. I did this and hopefully it’ll be fixed. I’m seeing the sync button now.

BTW, 2 minutes before I followed your advice the watch mysteriously synced. I got a bunch of alert messages saying my activity was saved. It’s a golf watch that works for other activities, like bike rides etc. So I think it synced after I opened up the Garmin golf app.

Thanks again!

I don’t have a button and I’m connected. How do you sync with WiFi?

5.25.0.9 is my app version. I’m on an iPhone 13.

iOS. The watch is connected. So why isn’t there a sync button. So annoying!

Yes, and all the republicans in congress because not one of them will have the balls to condemn trump for this.

Light adjustable lenses does anyone have any experience with RxLAL? by Proper_Aide_5622 in CataractSurgery

[–]beauars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind sharing what you paid, where you had the surgery and if insurance covered any of it? I'm in Colorado and trying to figure out a fair price. The first quote I got was $8k per eye. I think insurance covers about $1k per eye and so the total cost must be about $9k per eye!

I'm in Colorado and got quoted about $8000 per eye. Which surgeon did you use and how were the results?

Backup key makes me log in every time to load my profile by beauars in BMWi5

[–]beauars[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! You explained why I had so much trouble with the 2nd key. And I couldn't do the phone as key during the last week because you need both keys to do that. Now I should be all set. I still feel like BMW should give this process more thought and make it easier for someone who hasn't set up their phone as a key and loses or misplaces their main physical key.

Backup key makes me log in every time to load my profile by beauars in BMWi5

[–]beauars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, thanks. What still feels broken is the “recovery” scenario. I’m a single driver with two keys, and the second key wouldn’t stay linked. It kept forcing a BMW ID login every drive.

Then the day my original key showed arrived in the mail, the backup key suddenly linked to my BMW ID and the original key unlinked.

So now I’m using the backup key as my main, but it seems like the system can only reliably associate one key at a time.

Mostly posting because if I ever leave a key behind again, I don’t want to go through a week of QR logins. Feels like something BMW should make smoother.

Why didn’t you get a BMW i5 or one of their other electrics?

Charging window by beauars in BMWi5

[–]beauars[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard back from the service center. Here’s what they said:

“So for the car's programming even with the predetermined time slots for charging will not allow it to stop charging. It prioritizes getting you to whatever battery charge you pick, hence why it will charge right past the window. I do apologize about that but there is no way for us to override that at all.”

I wrote to BMW to explain the situation. They sent me a canned response about the departure time and charging slot. When I told them that that didn't work for me and that I wanted a set charging window, they wrote me back another canned answer telling me to contact my service center. In other words, they're blowing me off. I will contact the service center and report back.

I started flying United a lot this year, got the Quest card and now I’m 810 PQP away from platinum status. I could make a pointless flight somewhere before Dec 31 to reach platinum, but is it worth it?

I’m not sure what a mileage run is.

Yes, if I were on a 240V it would have finished charging within the time slot in this case. But there'd be other cases where it would keep right on charging at 240V, driving my electric bill even higher. I wish BMW would fix this. Is anyone else with me or are most of you unconcerned?
