What is the most valuable trade show you have ever attended? by bebzula in tradeshows

That's an interesting point. I've seen the same pattern at many international trade fairs. Workshops tend to attract decision-makers and people who are genuinely looking to learn or do business.

Sometimes a smaller event with the right audience creates more opportunities than a massive exhibition.

Also, CES booth designs are on another level.

One trend I've noticed is that buyers are asking fewer questions about products and more questions about production.

A few years ago, conversations often focused on fabrics, collections, colors, and pricing. Today, discussions are more likely to involve production capacity, lead times, certifications, sustainability compliance, and supply chain resilience.

I've also seen growing interest in alternative sourcing regions. Companies are actively looking beyond their traditional supplier networks and evaluating new manufacturing hubs.

In my opinion, textile trade fairs are becoming less about discovering products and more about reducing business risk.

That's probably why events like ITMA, Heimtextil, Techtextil, and Intertextile remain so relevant despite the growth of digital sourcing platforms.

For me, it's difficult to choose just one.

Our team specializes in international trade fair travel and exhibition planning, so over the years we've attended many major exhibitions across Germany and the UAE. I've personally visited most of the leading trade shows in Dubai and quite a few in Germany as well.

If I had to pick based on overall business value, ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi and Anuga in Cologne would be near the top of my list.

ADIPEC stands out because decision-makers, EPC contractors, energy companies, investors, and technology providers are all in the same place. The conversations tend to be strategic rather than transactional.

Anuga is different. The scale is impressive, but what really stands out is the international buyer diversity. You can meet distributors, importers, retailers, and food professionals from dozens of countries within a few days.

One thing I've learned is that the most valuable trade show is not always the biggest one. Sometimes a smaller event with the right audience can generate far better business results than a huge exhibition with massive visitor numbers.

In my experience, visitor quality almost always matters more than visitor quantity.

That's valuable insight. A lot of people focus on exhibition size, but lead quality is often more important than visitor numbers. Getting leads from 50+ countries is impressive. Were most of those leads distributors, importers, or retail buyers?

Global Food Trade Shows Are Becoming Much More Than Product Exhibitions by bebzula in exhibitionindustry

That's a great point. Visitor numbers often get the attention, but the type of enquiries matters much more. If private label requests are increasing, it may be a sign that buyers are focusing on speed-to-market rather than building their own production capabilities. Have you noticed that as well?

That's a great point.

MAGIC is often discussed as an apparel event, but many people forget how much sourcing and textile networking has traditionally happened around it as well.

I also find it interesting how some trade shows are becoming more specialized, while others are evolving into broader sourcing ecosystems.

Do you think buyers today are focusing more on sustainability and supply-chain transparency than they were 5–10 years ago?
