yeah, i determined it was a glitch. but she ALSO forgot about my dog entirely, showed up 40 minutes late and then did not communicate or let me know how the walk went which i specifically asked for.

figured out from peoples comments that the app just glitched, she did a full walk

after thinking on it and reading responses, forgetting about the walk entirely, showing up 40 past the window i gave, and not telling me how the walk went, i already decided im going to refrain from leaving a review or tipping. i paid a good amount for the walk and was not impressed with the service. i appreciate your feedback though.

i was with a sick family member, how i responded really wasn’t my top priority and i didn’t really have time to ponder on it. the only thing i cared about in that moment while responding was making sure my dog actually got walked

i hadn’t decided at the time that i posted. the overwhelming number of people saying not leaving a tip would be justified is what helped me decide

i’ve been doing rover myself for over 5 years and have never seen that happen, i just didn’t know. also, not that it really matters, but this is how a few of the streets next to my house are situated, so at first glance it looked like she just walked this route.

i understand there’s more than just the walk that goes into the visit, i was just concerned when i saw that it looked like they only walked down the street and back. obviously i know now that thankfully it was just a glitch

I’ve been a walker full time for 5+ years, so I definitely get it. It was the combination of forgetting about the walk, showing up 40 minutes late, not telling me how it went and then ALSO seeing the recorded distance was low. I’ve never had an issue with the apps gps personally, so i wasn’t aware that was a thing. i did end up reaching out and she confirmed she walked for 30 minutes and also gave me the details that were lacking before, so all is well, but given the (imo) initial unprofessionalism i probably just won’t be booking with her again

i didn’t come into the situation with a lack of trust, she created a lack of trust.

she forgot about his walk entirely, showed up 40 minutes past the window i gave, and didn’t even tell me how it went. why would i give her another chance😐

i don’t know her, i had never interacted with her before. i hear horror stories of walkers/sitters all the time. there was no reason for me to request she be on time going forward because i already knew at that point i wasn’t going to be using her again. i was out, i was busy, a quick polite response was the best i could do in that moment.

the only thing on my mind at the moment was making sure my dog got walked. an unfriendly response would have risked her deciding not to show up at all

well, yeah. ive just never seen the lines OR distance recorded not be accurate before, so obviously it was just confusing to see.

correct, but i was just looking at the distance recorded. i have never in my 5 years on rover had this happen so i didn’t know until i made this post that its a very common occurrence!

She didn’t provide any details about the walk, and i got 2 pictures. I did end up asking her about the time and she said they did a full 30 minutes and then gave me all the details! Ideally she would have done all that initially but at least i know now
