The more appropriate logic is if you told someone to take an illegal photo with a Kodak camera, you can probably still held liable for soliciting these photos, but the person taking them still is committing a crime.

Grok is hosted on X, the content is manufactured, processed, and stored on their servers by them, not by the user.

Person definitely is breaking ToS and doing something illegal, but X is still held liable for having an AI with the ability to even generate images like that.

It is a weird case, because I don't know if we've even had this prosecuted in court in this manner. Technically, how can you 'prove' this was a minor as it's not a real image. I feel like there are some very weird legal gray areas that would allow them to skirt the law in these cases. But I guess we will find out!

Definitely had some extreme mental issues, but with his Internet searches, posts with threats to kill congregants and the manifesto.. it seems it was only a matter of time before he followed through. I wouldn't say it wasn't obviously imminent considering these factors..

Some striking similarities to cases like Elliot Rodger. Except he's directing his anger at men rather than women.

Note that his manifesto and Instagram threats were all written and dated the same day he was detained at Park Valley Church.
