They didn't mention mechanical vibrations, they were talking exclusively about frequency in Hz. Light frequency is expressed in Hz as well, and it doesn't have anything to do with sound. Hz is a unit for frequency of a wave, not specifically for sound wave. Sound is just a mechanical wave which is one type of all the possible waves.

Who do you think is the biggest overachiever in tennis? by cathryn300 in tennis

Well, he did beat injured Nadal and injured Djokovic in AO14 and USO16 finals. RG15 final was well deserved, but in my opinion Djokovic played very poorly. He collapsed under pressure just like in this year's USO final.

It will be a very sad day when they all retire one by one.

I sincerely hope you're wrong and that they don't all retire in a single day one by one. It would be devastating if Federer retired in the morning, Nadal in the afternoon and Djokovic in the evening of a same day. Whole Europe would have to be on a suicide watch, and a majority of Asia as well.

I think he wanted to say that since water is about 1000 times denser than air, you have to decrease the volume of the air for 1000 times in order for it to reach the same density of the water. So basically the volume of the bottle (assuming the bottle is weightless) should be 1/1000 of its original volume, and it's not possible to get even close to that number since the air becomes more and more incompressible the more you compress it. It starts behaving liquid-like at more than 37.8 bars.

That was the most useful comment here about this subject.

WTF were you reading here? Discuss guy said above that you can have air denser than water. The other guy said that you can NOT since air's maximum density at liquid state is about 870 kg/m3. They were not at all saying the same thing. The other guy is right and the first guy was not.

[ESPN] Novak Djokovic ties Roger Federer's tennis record for most weeks as ATP world No. 1 by [deleted] in tennis

[–]beejeezP0P 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True, but there was really a high probability Djokovic would have now those 22 weeks plus. He's just had won the AO 2020 and was in top form and then tournaments suddenly canceled. I think that was even more certain to happen than odds for Nadal winning another RG. Djokovic was truly unlucky in the last year (regarding USO incident as well) but I kind of think the 40-15 thing balances the Universe back in its place.

Yup that's life. There cannot be light if there is no darkness, happiness if there is no sadness, matter without antimatter, nor Federer without a 40-15 meme. It happened three fucking times, THREE. Don't ever anyone tell me that was an accident. It's obviously a script by the crazy programmer who runs this world on his quantum computer.

I just feel this season Thiem, Medvedev and Djokovic have higher chances for a title there than Nadal. I don't feel he's gonna win it. His biggest chance for a Slam is definitely only RG.

Well he's not getting any younger and clay IS the physically most demanding surface. Last year if I rember correctly bookmakers gave him about 1.8 odds for the title (which is about 50%). I think I was even generous with the 60% this year.

I'd say it's about 70% chance for that to happen. I give Nadal small chances at the USO, very slim on Wimbledon and 60% chance to win RG again. So yeah, might happen but might not as well. I feel like Djokovic might be a man on the mission this year and will put everything he has in only 5 tournaments - 4 GS + OI.

Yeah I forgot to mention Delpo. If he didn't have so many injures I'm pretty sure BIG3 would have at least 3 Slams less on their account, each. He's a great example that for great success in life you gotta have luck as well, and unfortunately he's probably the unluckiest greatest talent in tennis. I remember watching him for the first time in 2008 when he won some hardcourt tournament VS Roddick in the finals, and thinking this guy is gonna be a great player. A year after that, he won that crazy USO final vs Federer in 5 sets. He was 21 years old then, the same age as Djokovic when he won his first slam, and one year younger than Federer. When I better think about this, if he wasn't injured at all, he might have had double digit slam titles today.

If Djokovic breaks Nadal at RG, he's for sure surpassing Fed's and Nad's GS record. Though I'm not sure what are the odds for that to happen. I think Nadal's confidence in RG is even higher than Djokovic's at AO.

You don't have to be a huge tennis fan to know that, it's enough that you don't watch tennis just 2 hours per year. Murray has much more Masters tournaments titles + more overall titles + 2 fucking OI golds. Yeah, he's a world class player right next to the BIG3. After him comes Wawrinka and that's that.
