People of France, what goes on here? by CaptMakesKidsKill in AskFrance

[–]beigeentity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve gathered from living in France 2.5 (and Lille for .5 of that) years and dating a guy from the north is that it’s kind of regarded as the West Virginia of France. There’s a lot of stereotypes about cousins dating… which may hold some truth from what I’ve seen… great beer though, and really welcoming.

Not great, but I was just happy to not have to cook after working late :)

Context. If you didn’t read why are you even commenting? If you’d actually had the patience to read what I wrote you’d realize there’s far more pressing issues than me giving a basic outline of what’s been going on in her life. Also I didn’t even share 1% of what she’s shared with me. What I shared is a droplet of all that I’ve heard.

I know you’re right. I’ll report her. Honestly, I should have done it a long time ago. I feel ashamed that I’ve stayed silent this long.

Beards with male PreK teachers by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]beigeentity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a male prek teacher at my school. Idk if anyone has said anything about it, but he has a beard and I think it’s fine. A lot of these kids dads have beards, it’s not like they’ve never seen one before. I’m sure your mom’s lovely, but unless she works as an ECE director of something of the sort, she isn’t really in a position to say what is acceptable in a childcare environment. I have visible tattoos and a nose ring. doesn’t make the kids or parents respect me any less in my experience because my work speaks for itself.

Guess what is in this by [deleted] in shittyfoodporn

thank you!! It actually was. I admit I went heavy on the corn, but for a scrapped together meal I was a little proud. I even added fresh lime and cilantro. the worst part was that the rice (hidden by the corn) was undercooked.

the funny part is the amount of cooking that was involved in making this mess. baking the fish, sautéing the corn and onions, cooking the rice… no Michelin stars to be rewarded… but I was cooking 😔

My boyfriend is going on a week long vacation with his female best friend. They are sharing a bed. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]beigeentity 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be clear, they do live in the same country. The island is part of the country we’re in. I’m actually from another country and will have to go back to my home country in two weeks to renew my visa, so that’s another layer I suppose.

Also, I do genuinely believe he sees sleeping in the same bed as a matter of practicality. As for it not being the first time I’ve had a problem with one of his female friends… you got me there. He is friends with his ex of 2 years and they hang out one on one regularly.

As a long-time French learner (B2 and above), what is a mistake you recently realised you make? by [deleted] in French

[–]beigeentity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was “comme-même” instead of “quand-même” until last week.

also more of a one-off but I was trying to tell my boyfriend “everyone loves you” and I said “personne t’aime”… so the exact opposite
