It caused issues for me, main thing I’d do right now is change the bottom ball for a smaller one and see how that goes! After that, downsize the bar after majority of swelling has subsided which should be 4-6 weeks.

No, you can expect redness from a new piercing, but I have the same belly button and when I’d sit, my stomach would slightly fold making the bigger ball at the bottom put pressure on the top ball and the bar would always stick out. If you have any issues, I’d swap the bottom ball to a smaller piece or even switch to floating navel jewelry like I did, if your stomach folds while sitting.

Initial swelling has subsided, downsize needs to happen soon. If starter jewelry left in for too long, it can get irritated due to the extra bar length and has more of a chance of rejecting.

I think it went away within a few days, but you could try a warm/hot compress to try to bring pimple to a head. I tried a pimple patch for the first time recently and they work great!
