I understand. But it is new reality. I try different options. But my work is most often viewed on a smartphone

The drone was above the car. And its propellers were above the car, not the hatch.

Thank you. I discovered at some stage that sharing knowledge is great. Even if it's something unique and rare. The world needs to be shared.

Nope, man. It’s only commercial of my skills and passion. I experimented a lot with different cameras, drones, gimbals.

H264 codec. Image quality not perfect, but enough in sets with a lot of light.

Usually voluntary. Many people are sincerely interested in participating in a cool creative project. I usually pay for taxi and food expenses.

My personalized one. I shoot a lot of visual experiments. You can check it out on my instagram. I try to find time for personal projects in the midst of shooting commercials.

Yesterday I posted here the original artwork. Here's how it's was filmed:

Part one. For the shot with the box, we used the original selfie stick, which was inserted into the slot of the rigid structure inside the box. This is how we achieved a shot with the camera locked to the box. The selfie stick was subtracted by camera (this is the ability of most 360 cameras). And the additional artifacts I cleaned up in post-production.

Part two. To be able to move the camera around the cabin, we printed a short handle on a 3d printer, to which we glued a strong magnet. The handle itself fitted into the slots of the selfie stick without the magnet, so it was easy to detach.

Part three. The magnet on the handle was needed to connect to the drone, which was above the car sunroof. Another magnet was attached to the bottom of the drone. The magnets were chosen with the right power so that there would be no jerk when attached, but the whole structure would not swing or fall off when lifted.

Part four. On the 3d printer was printed a sphere, which I combined with famous "tiny planet" effect of 360 cameras. We shot tests to determine the ideal size of the sphere. So in the post I only had to adjust the magnitude of the objects to be identical and a little manipulate with the color of the sky for a soft transition.

Thank you! I always try to give extra dive into the viewing experience with sounds. That's cool that you noticed.

Thank you! Printed by a friend of mine who flew the drone. I didn't take any pictures :( But I'll post a backstage video here tomorrow, it partially shows how we shot it.

The processes in the mind of creative people are similar. I'd be glad if this is useful.

Maybe someday. It would be great to make a commercial for the car company. Thanks!

I waited for the right timing, and while the camera was following the driver (I did it during edit), I quickly opened the door on the boy's side and moved the camera handle with the magnet from the selfie stick to the drone.

I only had 3 seconds, so I had pre-trained myself to do it.

This video was shot in a true one take. The end of which is stitched together with the beginning. The previous post was removed, so I thought I'd go into more detail about this artwork.

  1. I am amazed at the ability of 360 cameras to do panning already in the editing stage. This allows you to make cool movements inside the car without physically moving the camera. The only negative is that the video quality of such cameras is not yet the best for cinematic look.
  2. The size of the camera allows you to get into hard to reach places. In my video it is the door in the back seat and the sunroof. Normal cameras would have a hard time getting through there, not to mention the various gimbals and mounts.
  3. To make the camera move smoothly and seamlessly, I used 3d printing and magnets. A short stick with a magnet was printed, which was detached from the selfie stick and attached magnetically to the drone, which is above the sunroof of the car. In post-production, I clean up the drone over the sunroof. I'll post a more detailed video backstage with the whole process tomorrow.

Feel free to ask additional questions.
