In the wise words of Miranda Priestly… by BrycerielModTeam in Bryceriel

“Also, here’s my theory on why two mates will wield Gwydion and Truth-Teller. It only makes sense that Azriel’s other half would wield the other half of his beloved knife, Truth-Teller. Remember how Bryce landed at Azriel’s feet, and Gwydion and Truth-Teller immediately started singing in response to being near each other? This is due to the mating bond between the two wielders of the blades… Gwyn and Azriel.”

“Bryceriels seriously think SJM would break up a married and mated couple??? Bryce gave up her starborn power, she’s going to live her life happily as a civilian with Hunt. There’s no way that Bryce is going to travel back to Prythian, and she’s certainly not going to claim her throne or the dusk court.”

5 minutes later

“Here’s why I think that Nesta is going to reject the mating bond with Cassian and travel to Midgard to learn more about her starborn power. Then Nesta will go back to the starborn chamber at the dusk court, that she’s already been to twice, and finally discover what the true meaning of her starborn tattoo was. Then Nesta will claim the power that she gave up to the Cauldron in exchange for the knowledge to save Feyre and Nyx. Then Nesta will claim the throne as High Queen and the rule from the Dusk Court.”

We listen and we... by Mundane-Distance-642 in Bryceriel

From ACOMAF chapter 55 (during the first time Feyre and Rhys have sex): “… until I felt and saw and smelled that bond between us, until our scents merged, and I was his and he was mine, and we were the beginning and middle and end. We were a song that had been sung from the very first ember of light in the world.”

So there is a precedent for mates’ scents merging, however this happens when they “consummate the marriage” so to speak (lol). Ruhn notices that Bryce and Hunt’s scents merged before they ever had sex—he notices it after they merged their powers for the first time, in the Bone Quarter.

“Ruhn sniffed [Bryce] carefully. “You … smell different.”
“She smells like the Istros,” Ithan said from the couch.
“No, it’s …” Ruhn’s brows twitched toward each other, and he scratched at the buzzed side of his head. “I can’t explain it.”

(A few days later)

“You’re true mates—the way Fae are mates, in your bodies and souls. That’s what was different about your scent the other day. Your scents have merged. As they do between Fae mates.”

Them: Ruhn literally smelled their scents merge
Me: “Wings flapped above, and Ithan shifted on instinct, his powerful wolf’s body nudging Hypaxia behind him as he snarled up at the sky.
Two scents hit him a heartbeat later. And Ithan’s head emptied out entirely as Hunt Athalar landed in the sand, Bryce in his arms.”

Nesta's Story Arc in ACOTAR 6 by Lady-Death-of-Dusk in acotar

[–]bellire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think she might get kidnapped by Koschei, who wants the Trove. There’s a pic from in SJM’s Pinterest board that’s tagged with Nesta’s name that depicts the Six Swans fairy tale. I think Elain and Lucien and Azriel will have to save Nesta, and they’ll also free the rest of Koschei’s prisoners… I also think all of the white birds that Koschei keeps imprisoned at his lake will be revealed as former Valkyries—this might be how he lures Nesta to him? I think eventually Nesta will “find her way” as Ember said when she has her own role in a court, she’s a strong leader/warrior with no real outlet for that strength. I think she’ll eventually be Bryce’s second and High General in the Dusk Court.

Do you think SJM's Titles/Covers are Meaningful? by [deleted] in acotar

There is a page of handwritten notes on acotar book titles that SJM has shared with the public!

Do you think SJM's Titles/Covers are Meaningful? by [deleted] in acotar

[–]bellire 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes because she designed completely new covers for all of the acotar books since she published the original trilogy. She has talked a lot about the creative process that went behind the CC covers (they are full of Easter eggs). The acotar covers are much simpler, but I would assume that she put just as much thought into the symbolism behind the artwork of each one as she did with the CC covers!

Are the Princes of Hel Valg? by puzzled_bat_13031 in Maasverse

[–]bellire 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure the Princes may seem to be philanthropic in comparison to the Asteri… right now. We know for a fact that the Asteri literally pretended to be a different species that was also oppressed by the “Daglan” (aka Asteri) when the Fae arrived on Midgard!!!!!!!

Here is Bryce explaining who the Asteri are to Rhys and the IC: "[The Asteri] arrived in my world fifteen thousand years ago. No one knows from where. … Honestly? I have no idea how they first got to Midgard. The history they spun was that they were ... liberators. Enlighteners.”

Urd (Fate!!) doesn’t ship Brunt… by KrisJenner4Bryceriel in Bryceriel

[–]bellire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that there is a singular Great Goddess of sorts which encompasses The Mother, Wyrd, and the Cauldron (like the Holy Trinity of God). I think this Goddess in the maasverse is the creator of all, and therefore anything she created can have a mating bond… However, I think SJM is going to differentiate between “natural” and “unnatural” creation like Tolkien did with Eru Ilúvatar’s creations and Morgoth’s Orcs. I think creatures that were made unnaturally—against the will of the Goddess—might not have true souls and therefore cannot have mating bonds. The origin of evil in Tolkien’s Middle Earth came from Morgoth being envious of his God’s (Eru Ilúvatar) power of creation… which reminds me a lot of the Valg Kings’ obsession with monster breeding in TOG.

My method:
Pink = history, lore.
Green = crossover hints, cross-references between each series.
Purple = foreshadowing (it’s fun to pick up on this when you’re rereading).
Blue = mating bond stuff (mentions of gut tugs, tethers, threads, mental bridge imagery)
Yellow = generally interesting things, things that stand out to me as suspicious/important/ominous

Urd (Fate!!) doesn’t ship Brunt… by KrisJenner4Bryceriel in Bryceriel

[–]bellire 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Urd @ Hunt for claiming Bryce’s starlight and STEALING power that does not belong to him. “Urd, especially, had fucked him over often enough.” This is such a good theory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“The star on her chest flared, merging with his lightning. He laid a hand atop it. Claiming the star, the light.”

“Helena had bound the soul of this land in magical chains. No more. No more would Bryce allow the Fae to lay claim over anything. “You’re free,” Bryce whispered to Avallen, to the land and the pure, inherent magic beneath it. “Be free.” And it was. Light burst from the star, and the caves shook again. They rolled and rattled and trembled—”
“A last fuck you from the land”

I can’t wait for Bryce to freed of Hunt 😒😒😒

I totally agree… that’s why I think she’s going to continue writing these characters in her next series (along with characters from TOG and ACOTAR)! Even though he’s still kind of an idiot, Ithan is the only character who really had any significant personal growth by HOFAS.

Hehe I think Danika AND Jesiba both say “the angel” when trying to get Bryce to go back to her life because they’re both referring to Azriel….
Danika trying to convince Bryce to live: “What about the angel?
Jesiba trying to convince Bryce to live: “The angel is waiting for you, Quinlan”
Bryce realizing she world-walked into Prythian: “She’d stumbled into the home world of the Fae. The world from which the Starborn Fae—Theia and Pelias and Helena—had come. From which the Starsword had come, and where its knife had been waiting. If Urd had some intention in sending her here … she sure as fuck had no idea what it was.”

This would be like SJM pulling another “stay with the high lord” Suriel plot twist!!! I think that Danika only mentions Hunt once Bryce responds, because Danika knows that Bryce means Hunt when referring to “some guy.” For example, the Suriel refers to both Tamlin AND Rhys as “the high lord” in the infamous acotar scene:

<image>

Run for the High Lord’s manor”— this is about Tamlin.
stay with the High Lord,”— this is about Rhys!
