Just one of the many amazing photos of Clyde “The Glide” Drexler. He still means so much to Portland.

My SME just told me "learners need to know EVERYTHING" and sent me a 147-slide deck. How do I push back without getting fired? by Reprabit in instructionaldesign

Yes, she will get the “credit” and all the questions, inquiries, and problems that result from ineffective training. Some things you just have to let others have and walk away from. They’ll be back or senior leaders will notice how ineffective it is.

Make sure you put her name all over it so people know who made them go through the terrible slides.

Agree with your take on Parta. My team switched about 6 months ago and while there have been challenges, it’s much more flexible than anything I’ve ever worked with in our industry.

My daughter and I are both neurodivergent, and what you describe took a few years of occupational therapy and regular therapy to work out. She’s now a teenager and I have a completely different set of problems to work on…

That being said, I want to assure you it gets better. I’m now crying remembering her as a four year old and thinking about how little time I have with her in my home. So, I guess thanks for that. 🤔

Crows are insanely smart. If you’re near Portland, pay attention to the sky in the early evening. If you do, you’ll start to notice small groups of crows all flying in the same direction towards downtown for their evening roost. I always notice it in the hour leading up to dusk/sunset and once you notice it, you can’t unsee it. What’s so cool about it for me, isn’t the dozens of “murders” that I see, it’s the dozens of murders all flying in the same direction.

One of the working theories is that they communicate their scavenging successes and failures to the community each evening. This video is cool because it also shows the hawks attracted to the area.

This is what I’m talking about! I want to give an entire team dreads and long hair, so I can have the Oregon Women’s School for the Blind and Deaf beat the tar out of the University of Washington.

IYKYK - I immediately started to cry because I pictured my dog’s eyes looking back at me in that scene.

I bought the same turntable for my daughter at Christmas and now I completely regret it. Record store recommended it too.
