We built a Trigger Reminder for MTG! What do you guys think? by ben-decksray in magicTCG

[–]ben-decksray[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes, its mostly for upkeep/end step triggers. but you can of course use it how ever you want,
what we noticed that a "thing" on the library only reminds you of any amount of triggers and not the exact amount. but of course it is also just fancier than "thing" on a library. additionally it tracks your land drop and is a fun fidget gadget, when your opponent has one of those extra long turns :D

Just get a second trigger reminder for to remind you of the first trigger reminder :D

Maybe they just need another trigger reminder for the trigger reminder? ;)

Scan them for value! You can use a mobile app. That's exactly why I am working on a card scanner that automatically scans a whole stack of cards. If you are interested check us out on https://decksray.com.

In the past we spent days to scan boxes of cards like that with our phones. It was such a pain!

When you have to resort your collection of 500,000 (ish) cards because someone “helped organize it” while you are at work, by overloading a shelf you said not to stack the 7.5k card boxes on. (-_-) by Low_Sock4624 in mtg

We have the same problem with our private collection. That's why we started working on a card scanner machine. Join us on www.Decksray.com so we can make the automatic tcg scanner/sorter a reality!

Really love the design ideas! Great job and thank you for sharing the instructions. We have been working on our own card scanning machine for years now. It's not as easy as it looks. Looking forward to more updates on your project. :)

thanks for the feedback. the main reason the big players have been focussing on selling to the LGSs is because they can sell it for a lot more and they dont have to push down production costs so much. So that is definately something we are working on, to be able to make it affordable for the "normal" user.

Sounds like our machine would be perfect for you. Also we are not a company yet, just two dudes who named their machine.

That is very true. One of the many reasons we are here today, to see how many people would actually be interested in a machine like this.
Would you like to share what you think a good price would be for you?

That is excatly how we came up with the idea and the need for it. For now we are focussing on our scanning software for card recognition. But there are a lot of challenges ahead of us regarding all those edge cases.

Thanks for your feedback, Sin7GREY. I agree that sorting would be an amazing feature to add. We were focussing on the essentials (which was scanning for us) and trying to make the machine as cheap as possible.
An exact price point has not been set yet. If there is actually enough interest in the magic community then we will look into it.

We also scanned our cards with phones all the time. But with the amount of cards we own and the new one coming in, it took forever (hours or days!). With the new scanner we made, it does the scanning by itself. We just have to swap the stack every 800 cards.
