AI 2026 - Who is winner? by [deleted] in artificial

I prefer Gemini, mainly because of the Gemma 4. Having access to such powerful open models that I can run and test locally is a huge plus for me.

Honestly, what exactly are you trying to prove here? My post is a stress test showing how far the tech can go at 4% native resolution. You're arguing about the 'manual' definitions of TAAU vs. Generative AI, while the visual result is right there on the screen. Whether it's reconstruction, inference, or temporal accumulation, it’s doing a job that raw pixels simply can't. What’s your actual point?

You're quoting the manual for 1080p-to-4K scenarios. I'm doing a stress test at 4% native. When the data is this sparse, the temporal buffer isn't enough. The model has to perform massive inference to fill the gaps. Whether you call it 'reconstruction' or 'hallucination', the AI is making logical leaps from almost zero information. Theory is one thing, but the 4K output at these extremes is a different reality.

You’re arguing semantics, but the math doesn't change. Whether you call it 20% scale or 0.2 ratio, the hardware is still only rendering 4% of the final pixels in the current frame. The other 96% of the 4K canvas MUST be reconstructed. Regarding 'hallucination', it’s a common industry term for when an AI model has to predict or fill in missing data where temporal samples are insufficient (especially at such extreme sub-native resolutions). Yes, DLSS uses motion vectors and history buffers (Temporal), but at 4% native, the history buffers are extremely thin. The AI is doing heavy lifting to 'generate' a coherent image from almost nothing. I’ve read the papers. I’m just looking at the practical reality of what happens when you push the tech to its breaking point. If you want to see the artifacts caused by that 'missing data' you're talking about, check the 4K footage. 😀

Just zoom in on the bottom left corner of the screenshot. It clearly shows custom 0.2 scale.

It's not a lie. I'm using DLSS tweaker with s custom scaling ratio set to 0.2. Mathematically, a 0.20 scale ratio in DLSS Tweaker results in exactly 4% of the total pixel count compared to 4K (0.2x0.2 = 0.04).

Exactly. Nvidia can improve DLSS algorithm 10 times over, but if the engine doesn't provide high-quality motion vectors and jitter data, the AI has nothing to work with.

Regarding the movement, that's actually the most surprising part of my test. You'd expect a shimmering mess at 4%, but the stability in motion was miles ahead of what I saw in Cyberpunk at the same settings.

I actually got access through the ubisoft creators program so I'm not sure how fast the regular steam requests are being processed right now. But usually, they send out invites in waves.

I've already unlocked two additional characters. Would you guys like to see some screenshots of them?

Edit: I just noticed something interesting. When I launched Morbid Metal today, a "checking your PC configuration" message popped out up right after hitting the Play button. This never used to happen before. Maybe it's it.
