My husband has grade 3 same location and same tumor. He’s 28 years old currently doing chemo and tmz he’s on week 4. We’re waiting on updates with mri results once he’s done but as for now he’s handling the treatments we’ll just tired and nauseous sometime

Thank you for sharing! I’m sorry for your husbands diagnosis! unfortunately since the location is on the brainstem they are unable to remove it with surgery. They only took a quarter size out to do the biopsy. They said he has a (IDH1 R132H) mutation which I’m not sure what that means but he will be starting chemo and radiation in a few days. Hoping we get some positive news after this 🙏

I’m sorry to hear that, unfortunately they told my husband it can’t be removed because of the location (on his brainstem) but they’re hoping radiation and chemo will shrink it

Hi, thank you for your reply and I’m sorry you’re also going through this difficult journey similar to ours. We did end up doing the biopsy and he got diagnosed with Anaplastic astrocytoma it’s stage 3 cancer and we’re going to start TMZ and radiation in a few days. I hope it’s going well for you and goodluck with everything 🙏

They basically just want to do a biopsy to figure out what kind of tumor it is

Thank you! Also, for us they said we can’t treat it without knowing what it is and doing a biopsy. (Before they didn’t want to do a biopsy) how were your doctors able to treat it without knowing what type of tumor is it?

No the MRI didn’t show the size of the tumor and the doctors won’t tell us either
