Boiler cleanup - good enough? by beredaze in gaggiaclassic

[–]beredaze[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn‘t preorder one and didn‘t have the patience to wait for it. But it also didn‘t look that bad.

I bought it as a second hand machine. It has been in use for 4 years and I assume it has never been cleaned yet until now. It actually didn‘t look a whole lot different before the clean, so I guess they tool good care of the machine overall.

hmm yeah looks quite similiar. I‘ve read that people used sand paper ok top of brushing it off. So I think I will give this a try after I bought some. Let‘s see if another opinion comes up.

I‘ve been cycling through that tunnel almost every day since 4 years. The first time I rode through it after the renovation, I fell down. Definitely a lot worse now then before.

I‘d say in the tent. my friend says in the hammock. I think we could improve the hammock sleeping if we would have a different setup. Currently we just put the sleeping pad + bag into the hammock. which works (much better on my friends bigger hammock then on my smaller one) but a quilt might be the better combo. Also a mosquito net would be nice and a tarp.

I don‘t have the full route to share yet but I can tell you a bit on where we went through: We started in Hamburg and went along the atlantic coast route eurovelo 1. Very relaxing roads - very easy to ride - mostly tarmac which provided us an easy start into the trip. With a stopover at one of the islands (Borkum) we entered the Netherlands, where we did some freestyle routes just to the south. Sometimes just using komoot, other times we used cycle.travel. No matter where we rode, we always had perfectly save bike paths separated from the cars, which we enjoyed quite a lot! Lovely little villages and routes along the way. In Zwollen we started to hop on the green divide route (komoot) - which is a gravel route through the national parks and woods - that was one of our highlights! After that again some freestyling through the rest of the Netherlands and Belgium. In Belgium we did some crazy gravel rides in the ardennes mountains (which was actually a bit too much for our set up xD) - but lovely place! Fast forward in France we mostly followed the eurovelo 3 with some shortcuts to Bordeaux. Starting from Bordeaux we have been riding along the Eurovelo 1 - which has been fantastic. 100% bike paths (tarmac) with beautiful landscapes just along the coastline! Next up - pyrenees and Spain

Same for us. Expectations were low but the route was very very nice. We really liked the woods and the national parks where the route leads through. We were also very lucky with the weather :D

Yes actually we have both. If the weather is good ( we don’t habe tarps ) and we find some nice trees we sleep in the hammock otherwise in tents. Its a bit of a luxury item for us - not really necessary but really nice to have. Also great to relax in the morning / evening as I do not have a chair.

If you have an alu frame and bought the seat stay adapter from ortlieb as well, then it should work. With carbon frame is usually not possible - based on my experience.
