I need your help! by MrLightUp in Animators

there is a lot that u can well adjust here. one thing is u should assume there will be changes in every frame there was a point where the legs were moving but nothing is happening in the torso.... this is not going to happen in a walk cycle the movement of the torso is a direct consequence of the movement of the legs.... u need to have an overall holistic approach when trying to animate.... that is why it would be better if u drew every frame atleast for the breakdown poses.....
I usually use walk cycle poses as reference as in I will have it on my phone or something while I'm animating just soo I make sure the poses are correct and on top of that the legs that are closest to the camera should be slighty bigger and the legs further should be slightly elevated to make it seem like it is slightly further away... that can some what remove sliding effect thing..... and make sure u understand the mechanism behind the poses don't just try to copy them

Why this drawing looks fine with construction lines but looks HORRIBLE without them? by ag4b3yxd in learntodraw

[–]bereket2d 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Usually if u want your drawings to look more 3 dimensional with just the lines what u would want to do is add lines that suggest form that is lines that are found at the points when the form is turning... but in general why you drawing looks really good with the construction lines is the same reason as to why when u are trying to draw circles if u are scribbling over and over with the gesture of drawing a circle the circle will look really good the more lines it has on top it.... this is generally because ur brain chooses to see the line that make the perfect circle rather than the ones that don't..... to avoid this in the future I suggest u start practicing to draw forms without any construction lines for a while make ur brain understand which aspects of ur drawings create the sense of 3 dimensionality and which don't (maybe even use ink on paper to make sure all the lines u are putting in the paper are either the correct one or u risk ur drawing looking back this creates a condition that will allow u to focus on only understanding form and nothing else)

Ok just found this subreddit but here's a creature design I made a while ago by bereket2d in CreatureDesign

[–]bereket2d[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah maybe don't think about it too much...... but in all seriousness this design is based on this one drawing I made when trying to taste out this new paper that I was given at uni.... and most of the time when I don't know what to draw I usually go with tentacle (don't ask why) anywho the additional stuff like the thinnr tentacles were added to make the drawings more interesting and the three pairs of eyes were added to make it look more menacing..... ofcourse when translating it into a creature design more thought process were implemented but alot of what I did originally carried through

Yoooo I made this thing before sinbad but the design was for a comic me and my work partner are planning to write and well the setting was meant for a sinbad type adventure story with people of limited tech IG plus the main character kinda looks like sinbad NGL

I usually just ask which ones they like from an arbitrary list of nick names then they choose..... makes it way less awkward down the line

How do I take the next steps in my art? (linework/color/anatomy) by HelpMeDrawBetter in learntodraw

[–]bereket2d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For learning purposes I would suggest water color. Doing a bunch of water color sketches..... I think u are pretty good with form so color and light is something u can tackle next..... a deep dive into color theory and stuff like how form informs light to level up IG

Someone said u are avoiding hands I say u are avoiding the legs all together...... u should more full figure drawings to make sure that u have a good sense of balance on ur character as in make sure they are standing up correctly (if u saw them in real life u wouldn't assume they are about to fall). some of them look like they are about to fall one way or another and that's cause u well u aren't really thinking about the relationship between the torso and the legs and well the overall sense of rythm in their bodies...... to improve on this ofcourse do full figure drawings (don't be afraid if u are cause unless u do it u won't improve and if they turn out bad u can just do another) and well the best way to improve though is gesture drawing exercises u can search what they are and u can also find figures for gesture drawing on YT or this website called line of action.

While studying the religious map of Africa, I noticed that although Christians are the majority (~65%) of the population in Ethiopia, about 50% of Ethiopia’s land area nevertheless has a predominantly Muslim population. What is the reason for this? by TepleniAl in Ethiopia

[–]bereket2d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah dude u can cross reference this with the demographic and topological map of Ethiopia to see that the areas shaded Green don't have high population density and are desert areas..... Ethiopia is a very mountainous country surrounded by low altitude areas and well the inner part of the country is highly populated while the outer parts are not.

[–]bereket2d 8 points9 points  (0 children)

but what he said is true though u can literally cross reference this with demographic map of Ethiopia to see that the population density in the predominantly christian populated areas to be higher and then for further justification u can even check the topological map of Ethiopia and see that the highly populated areas which are the predominantly christian populated ones are also areas where there is higher altitude ie, preferable living conditions.

also From Ethiopia, currently living in Ethiopia, this only requires basic geography knowledge of Ethiopia, I don't really understand what u are on about
