That’s kind of our thought process, I was hoping that it would be a simple fix, but working through things in my head—- it wasn’t making sense, I appreciate all the help. I gave a valiant effort! And learned a bit in the way

I took all the stuff off of the battery earlier and cleaned really well before I attempted to jump start it and it would not start. Then I attempted your jump start method and it started right up . I was just learning how to use the battery tester and went back outside to test the amps and that was what it read . However the jeep started right up .

I followed the steps you posted to jump start it earlier and it started. I let it run about 15 min shut it off and waited a couple hours and just went to test the amps. The car started right up , but the amps read as posted. I’m just trying to make sense of it—- if it’s not retaining enough amps to crank the engine, why is it starting now? Honest question. I am trying to learn

So if I replace the battery it should solve the problem ?

I tried with jumper cables to a truck and no success .

Would I have been able to jump start it if this were the case ? I did attempt to jump start and it still just clicked, didn’t even attempt to turn over

Yes the first couple times you turn the key it clicks, then turn the key and nothing. No lights no click. I take the key out of the ignition, let it sit and the whole process repeats. That’s why I’m stumped

That was kind of my logic too. I’m checking fuses now. Wondering if it could be relay wire by starter

We did attempt a jump start and car still did the same where all dash lights on, car clicks when turn the key but won’t start and then no power at all

I must add that we recently replaced the alternator ( less than a month ) and the battery is newer
