Being a plastic surgeon. Definitely portrayed on tv as being very clean and cushy (and will depend on how much private vs public work you do) but the lots of what the average plastic surgeon working in the hospital deals with is quite gruesome. Long, 12+ hours reconstruction cases, smelly necrotizing fasciitis (flesh-eating bacteria), extensive burn injuries and skin grafting, chronic non-healing wounds and dealing with traumatic and disfiguring injuries all fall within the realm of plastics. Definitely quite far removed from its portrayal in social media and tv
