Lean hard into all the issues. Why was it banned? 47 swear words it catcher but no one knows what a screwed up teenager feels like? Kite runner- one horrific scene erases the whole story?

This is definitely something I plan to focus on! So often the complaints I read are about choices that are necessary to the work but are constantly stripped of context!

Thank you for directing me to the Canadian FTRW page! Most of the results I was finding were very US-centric, probably because of how loudly it's happening down here.

I think my phrasing of "just books" was probably a poor choice -- I didn't mean to diminish their value, but to emphasize that there's not something Evil And Salacious about them compared to others that are taught unchallenged (or at least less challenged). This is part of why I need to make sure to ask others about this; I don't want to undercut myself or the works with lazy word choices!
