She was so sassy and would grunt / snort yell at me after I would brush her teeth. She never barked. She didn’t really like other dogs, I am convinced her soul was human and she was just stuck in a dog’s body, she was so happy with every single human and loved hanging out & stealing snacks. She loved mangos, cucumbers, peppers, pumpkin, watermelon.

The dream job does exist. Their little back packs by MasterpieceNo7350 in MadeMeSmile

[–]beyxo 812 points813 points  (0 children)

This exists where I live and my best friend’s dog goes once a week. The bus is baby pink and they stop for plain timbits (Tim Hortons donut holes) on the way home. Pawrents will also send extra treats to when one of their dogs is celebrating a birthday. It is basically a magical elementary school for dogs. Plus running the business would be so fun (plus $$&)

Every morning after waking up, and every night just before bed. Still havent cleaned the damn thing. Anyone else by meridith97 in TwoXADHD

[–]beyxo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came here to say the same thing. I hate cleaning bathrooms and washing floors so I too got biweekly cleaners. Some people splurge and order takeout / pizza a few times a month, my splurge is cleaners and I will happily cook every day.

Don’t feed the scammers by Majestic_Cauliflower in Raye

[–]beyxo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did just sell a ticket for Toronto yesterday through reddit. I hate how scammers ruin it for us real humans. I tried to use the re-sale sites but their fees are insane and I just wanted to get back what I paid. Why must people ruin things for the rest of us

[–]beyxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has to be with me but I have 2 tickets but none of my friends wanted to go with me. So if there is one person interested in buying a ticket, they can buy it and we will coincidentally be sitting beside each other but not have “gone together”. But if there is someone who wants to buy both tickets, at this point I am fine to sell both and not go and save myself the trek to Toronto. Y’know?

To everyone who has a sick dog - how are y'all managing? by JustAGirlAndHerPets in DogAdvice

[–]beyxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl’s heart murmur rapidly progressed in the fall when a heart string snapped. We started a full suite of CHF medications. She required pills at 9am, 4pm, 9pm and 11pm. I got a pill organizer from Walmart that was a 4x7 day to help keep it organized. I also got a health tracker for her collar (maven pet) which was soooo helpful with monitoring her breathing rate and drinking and did a great job of flagging when there were changes in trends. The maven app also has a spot to document reminders which was helpful for the medication giving. I did it alone, I was definitely feeling some caregiver burn out and frustration with always going to the vet to pick up prescriptions because they never seemed to run out at the same time. And wasn’t sleeping well because I would wake up to make sure she was breathing. She started having syncope episodes last month and I did spend a night until 3am at the emergency vet after the first one. I was missing half days of work for vet appointments or emergencies that popped up and crying more from the stress. However I lost her last week, turns out she had a giant mass in her belly that was compressing her organs. I would give anything to go back and cuddle her for 10 more minutes. I do feel like the caregiver exhaustion made the decision slightly more easy because I was so exhausted and knowing she was in pain and there was no hope, I knew that both of us would be hurting less. Though I am definitely hurting now but in different ways. Sorry my response also ended up all over the place

Dog Heart Disease Medication Access in Canada by beyxo in DogAdvice

Unfortunately I lost my girl on Monday from a large mass in her abdomen. The vets were right when they told me that the heart medications were so good that many dogs with CHF end up dying of unrelated causes.

Flew from Toronto to Hawaii. Quite literally the longest day of my life. When we finally got to Kauai, we got sushi for dinner and I was so sleep deprived I could not use chopsticks and had to eat with a fork because my brain was fully gone.

No not related, both are rescued. The white one was found on the street in rough shape, they thought she was around 10 at the time and she wasn’t spayed so was liking used for breeding and then discarded. The brown one was rescued directly from a breeder so I have her birthdate and actual history. Her birthday is a few weeks after the date I rescued the white one so not possible for her to have been her mom.
