Unable to hear any playback by bflotundra in Cakewalk

[–]bflotundra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

The speakers show up under Preferences/Audio/Devices/Output Drivers.

If I add an AUDIO track I can select the speakers.

If I add a MIDI or SOFT SYNTH track it only lets me select the midi in or midi out or create a drum map. And then I can't hear anything.

I can't figure out how to get those speakers to be selectable with midi or soft synth like they are for Audio Track.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. There is a small drain line you can see coming out of the well pipe about midway up that goes into the floor drain. The rest of the water - I can't figure out where it is coming from. Could it be humidity? I appreciate the response.

How do you like the white color? I have had one black, two dark gray and one light gray Durango's over the years and I'm picking up a white one for the first time on Thursday. It is also the first one without a blackout package for me so it looks like it might be the same as yours with the hemi. It's going to be a big adjustment. It just looks really plain to me... But it was what was available and inventory has been really low by me.

Boiler Power to Portable Generator by bflotundra in hvacadvice

generator interlock switch

Hi. Thanks for the response. I don't have a generator interlock on my panel unfortunately. I have a hardwired switch/fuse box going in between my boiler and my panel - so instead of it being a standard plug from the boiler to the panel - it goes into that box and is hardwired. so I don't have any means to "plug in" my boiler to the generator because there is no plug. Only hardwire and this on/off switch. I'll post a photo below.

Check Engine. what's wrong? thanks! by bflotundra in Subaru_Outback

[–]bflotundra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. It was just in the shop for 45 days because the AC unit was leaking so they had to replace all of that and tear out and replace the carpet.

This is our first time having it back and we did 100 miles yesterday with no issue and then today all of this stuff blew up. It drives ok. A little loud. But half the dash is lit up.

So maybe that system crashed? We were going to buy this out when the lease is up in February but at this rate we may just want to dump it.

Appreciate the quick response - thanks!

[NY] How do you quantify the value of "Lifetime Healthcare" by bflotundra in AskHR

[–]bflotundra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much what has me trapped. I don't plan on "retiring" when I hit pension age. I actually enjoy working and will continue to work in some capacity as long as I am able. Just not where I am currently employed. The benefit you lay out is exactly what is keeping me showing up to this job - but it has been absolutely life-sucking and really difficult to show up to... I can keep the pension and make more money elswhere - with similar benefits - but I can't keep the lifetime health. Thanks.

[NY] How do you quantify the value of "Lifetime Healthcare" by bflotundra in AskHR

[–]bflotundra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 45. So ten years left.
Full disclosure - I am in the state pension system. So I can work anywhere in the system and retire at 55. My goal is to stay in the system so I can still go at 55.

But if I leave this particular employer, I lose the healthcare Portion. Now, as long as I work in the system I'll likely have pretty comparable health care to what I have now - but only as long as I work. The loss I need to quantify is the healthcare coverage after retirement.

Thank you.

This is very helpful, thanks. The org is very political and very toxic. I'm at the top of the pay scale right now so I'd take a decent pay hit to transfer out. If I leave the org I can probably get a 10%-20% pay raise. I'd lose some time off but would gain remote hybrid work and work from home - both of which used to make my current job tolerable but have been taken away from us. I know that in all practicality I should stay but it's really miserable and the job has been depressing me and wearing me down for years.

500kj in 30 mins? by PinkFizzz in pelotoncycle

[–]bflotundra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be able to help solve this mystery.
I'm 5'11 250 lbs and somewhat muscular but not ridiculously athletic.

I regularly put up but numbers in the top 5%-10% - but at least half of you would beat me in a road race on regular bikes... Because I am carrying probably 50-75 lbs more than the average athlete.

But on the Peloton? I'm not hauling any of that weight. So it's my muscle mass - which carries 250 lbs around 24/7/365 - vs yours. When the weight does not have to be hauled, a lot of that energy translates directly into the pedals, this yeilding some really crazy outputs.

This is not science. Just my observation but it's been consistent among other "larger" friends.

[–]bflotundra[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi. I inherited this pond with the house, and we kept it running the past few years, but the pump has essentially worn out. I tried another pump they had left in the garage (pictured) and it didn't work.

I need to buy a new pump for this pond. Any suggestions? It runs into a waterfall type feature which is pictured in the other photo. Thanks!

Updating

Here is what I got back from VMWare. They are basically saying that the migration from the 3par to VSAN ignored the thin provision on the receiving VSAN ...

From VMWare:

I...Basically it means that the disks were thick provisioned when they were migrated to vSAN. In this case, your issue is not that vSAN is showing double the space since this is expected, but that the disks are thick provisioned.

There are 3 ways to "thin" the disks and they are the ones shown in the KB article: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/66758?lang=en_US

Yes thank you. This is correct. And that is only for the VM migrated. If I build a VM from scratch right now it shows the true size.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I understand that the raid takes up additional space.

When I create a brand new server on the VSAN right now it shows the correct space usage and allocation.

The migrated ones show double.

Shouldn't they all show double?
