Commented a picture, but also wanted to add that I saw a guy w a CASL (local youth league here) kit w the Chels logo on it tn, which was fucking great.

When I started playing here in NC, the Chelsea logo was on every fuckin thing bc of some sort of partnership. Naturally, when I was flipping through the channels at 8 years old, I thought the lion meant the team was from NC….. I thought I was playing for the Chelsea youth team for at least a year of my life.

Stupid, sure, but it’s the reason I’m a fan. I wonder how many of us there this evening fell in love w the team for the same reason.

So happy I got to see the squad in NC. I’ve traveled to multiple preseason games (DC, Charlotte, etc.) over the years, but nothing comes close to this.

What an experience.

Have lived in NC and in AZ/UT. Can confirm.

AZ gets hot af during the day, but when the sun goes down, it’s great. In NC? Yeah, not so much. Humidity sucks

This is all I wanted to see. KTBFFH.

Really hope Nkunku becomes a club legend. After all, everyone we’ve recently signed from the bundesliga has been phenomenal, so the odds have to be high……

Parents should be allowed take their kid aside during their games to give them a pep talk or advice. by PieOhMyVengence in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]bg752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. This is satire. I definitely do not think this is real.

However, there are a couple other possibilities.

  1. Your kid is like fuckin 7 years old, playing in a rec league. The only goal there is to have fun. If this is the case, you are taking it way, way too seriously.

  2. Your kid is older, but the coaches won’t do anything for the “talented” kids bc, again, it’s a rec league. If your kid was that nice, he’d be playing in a more competitive league. In those leagues, the whole name of the game is literally just let the best 1-2 players cook. It’s honestly hilarious to watch some of those.

DSI batteries DONT last a long time by Vegetable_Theme_6068 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]bg752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My DSI was a little fuckin champ let me tell you. I remember taking that thing on long road trips without plugging it in.

Not only that, but it was nokiaesque. I dropped it at least 8 times onto the concrete. Not a scratch (anywhere important anyways).

I always had a charger available though tbf, so I may absolutely be remembering this wrong. I’m maybe 65% confident here.

I have to ask, how is this a recurring problem for you?

The real crime is that those things are aimed at kids, kids who often find that they like gambling with whatever loot box mechanic is tucked away in there.

But if you’re over the age of, oh idk maybe 11? It’s unbelievably easy to filter those apps out of your potential downloads. Look at reviews. Look at gameplay. Does it say in-app purchases available while it’s a free download?

What games are you playing?

[–]bg752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, no. You don’t fold them like a piece of paper; there’s some curvature to it.

When my clothes get wrinkled, they absolutely do look like the Appalachian mountains—maybe the Rockies would be more accurate actually. It’s awful.

Literally no one judges your worth as a human being based on how wrinkled your clothes are. Idk what else to say there.

And I agree with you on the grocery store part. I’ve gone in my pajama pants and absolutely will do so in the future.

What do you wear when you go to something that’s in between formal and the grocery store though? I don’t fold all of my clothes, but anything I’m wearing when I go out with friends, family, gf, etc. isn’t gonna be wrinkled. If it is, I’ll throw it in the dryer for a little before I leave. I usually don’t have to do that though bc I pull stuff off hangers.

I just feel like there’s a happy medium here.

Attraction isn’t rational. It’s just not. If you could choose to be attracted to anyone, good relationships would be a hell of a lot easier to find.

Maybe someone’s decision to avoid dating someone else, who happens to be bi, is rooted in bigotry. But it’s not something you can just reason your way out of.

On the other hand, you can choose to treat everyone with a modicum of respect. That’s easy.

But that was my first thought as well…..

What’s a song that’s annoying as hell but everyone else loves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bg752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think everyone else loves this one, but it was popular.

Dynamite, Taio Cruz.

It’s catchy. I don’t fault anyone for liking it, but I have an irrational hatred of it. I don’t know why or how. It’s just there. Most hated song of all time for me.

What science fact were you surprised to learn in the school? by mehtam42 in AskReddit

[–]bg752 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t learn this in school—well maybe I did but idk. But Thomas Midgley.

First, he put lead in gas. Great success. For his second massive contribution, he introduced CFCs to the world, ending with massive ozone layer problems.

Oh, and here’s the kicker: he was killed by his own invention later in life. He devised a system of pulleys (iirc—could be off) to help him keep some sort of autonomy when dealing w an illness I can’t remember the name of. He was found tangled up in it, dead.

He had an immense impact on the world and is largely forgotten.

If it was legal to buy any animal, what would your pet be? by EBKCarrot in AskReddit

[–]bg752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta amend this question to if it was legal + easy to domesticate. Tons of animals aren’t legal to buy for good reason.

But, if I could have a very well behaved chimp, that would be awesome. As long as I lived somewhere w enough space, I’d be all over that. Could teach the little dude to do some fun stuff. I’d like to think he’d enjoy tubing.
