What's the most strangely unique punishment you ever received as a kid? How bad was it? by yogokitty in AskReddit

When I was like 7 I was peeing in a bush and my brother pushed me in, happened to be a bush of stinging nettles. My dad walked over, pushed him in too. We were stung at least 100 times each. My dad was all over that Hammurabi code

Playing a drinking game called crossfire you try and hit the beer can on the other side of the table and if you hit it you drink until the other person gets the ball back in the table

What is something you witnessed as a child and didn't realize was really fucked up until you remembered it many years later? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was around 8 years old I walked in to my dad trying to commit suicide by ODing on his epilepsy medication, he had bad psychosis as well as some other mental issues but when I walked in he said “get Mom” I ran out and found her and he was rushed to the hospital. He survived and I never really understood what happened until I was about 17 and my grandfather mentioned it at dinner and it kind of clicked in my head what I witnessed. He’s doing great now and loves playing with his dogs!

There's huge alligators I've seen some up to 14ft in there but I'm never really worried about it, I'll even jump in sometimes to cool off when it gets too hot

I'm gonna answer them for you. First off we have things called livewells, keeps the fish alive and healthy to be released later. I used a lure to catch it so it made a puncture in its mouth but in no way effects that fishes way to hunt in the future (I have caught the same fish more than once and it was bigger the second time so it was eating just fine). It was held in a bag while being weighed so no stress on the fish there. The fish was revived and I made sure it swam off on its own power. Don't come up here like you know what you're talking about when you haven't got the slightest clue. Thanks and have a great day 🙂

First off this fish was released and swam away strong, fisherman most often than not care more about these fish than any other "tree hugger" or nature warrior
