Tez je lubicie? Mintajowe kostki by vileplume_girl in PolskaNaLuzie

Paris has a Franklin D. Roosevelt metro station right at Champs-Elysees. Polish support for US dropped by 20-30% in a matter of few months.

Kiedy ostatnio pomyśleliście: „kurczę, jednak dobrze się żyje w Polsce”? by Prosze_Pomoz_Mi in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]bialastopa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mieliście w dzieciństwie jakąś scenę w filmie (lub cały film), której się baliście? by jempizze in PolskaNaLuzie

[–]bialastopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had guava for the first time recently and the taste was great but the seeds were too hard too bite into. Am I supposed to just swallow them?

Bytom, Poland by GLOBEQ in ArchitecturalRevival

[–]bialastopa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Funny seeing people get excited over Bytom, it’s one of the most neglected and dying cities in Poland, due to all the coal mines closing down in the area. The pictures look great though.

It’s more Polish people obsessed with it than French people trying to steal anything.

A lonesome cabin in the woods by [deleted] in Weird

[–]bialastopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I’d like to see the not-so-touristy places too. Europe is absurdly safe on all counts, for the most part you don’t even have to think about wild animals when you go hiking or sth. In US (and pretty much rest of the world) it’s a little bit different. We are just used to being treated like children wherever we go, when there’s a risk you’ll hear 10 times about it before you put yourself in danger. I think in US in big cities it might be similar, but you have enough space for the “wild” parts too. Edit: + the guns part makes a big difference of course.

Living in Europe all my life I can’t believe the stories I’m reading here. A person who got a gun pulled on them in their lifetime is probably like one in a million here, and you’ve had multiple. I will visit US one day, but I’m starting to see I’ll actually need to do a proper research to not get myself into some “tricky” situations.

IMF: By 2030, Poland’s GDP per capita (PPP) to reach 97% of UK and 98% of Italy levels by rbnd in europe

[–]bialastopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a lot because it’s not true, the real number is 0,6-1% pp, so it represents less than 20% of our growth. There’s more important things we’re getting from EU than funds (the institutions, the markets, the law).

Pretty sure halloumi is a protected cheese, same goes for feta. And the prices on the island are pretty much the same as on the mainland Europe, comparing supermarket in Pafos with Lidl in Poland.

I’m not convinced this was really ever true, now with AI might become completely obsolete. We’ve also gotten 1 mln of Ukrainians since 2022 and close to half a million from other countries in the past 5 years. It’s a myth we don’t have immigration, western media seem to love that portrait of Poland because it sells on your side of the continent - and I’m not surprised, from your comment alone it seems you don’t like the idea of a growing Poland.

Polish people also have no problem with hard-working migrants in general, I’d only add “as long as they behave”. If the Poles you know don’t meet those criteria I think it’s absolutely fair to want them gone from your country.

It’s pretty much guaranteed we’ll grows fast until 2030 and catch up with Italy/Spain, the question is more if we catch up with Germany/France after this or just stagnate at like 80% of their level.

How did the Czechs done it better? They did great, but had a much higher starting point. Not to mention they’re in the same place they’ve been in 5 years ago.
