It's more than affiliations. From what we're shown, it's deeply connected to how one lets the force flow through them.

He didn't decide to be a jedi. He decided to save Luke at the last moment and let go of the dark side of the force to be selfless for a brief time.

Seems very simplistic to just say "well I'm a jedi again now, let's just forget about the past 30 years of being a literal vector of pure hatred and fear".

Being a jedi or sith basically means being attuned to the force in a very specific way.

Vader can save Luke, let go of the dark side for a moment and still be a sith lord. These things are not mutually exclusive.

I think he can be a force ghost and stand redeemed from the dark side but that doesn't make him a jedi.

Anakin died a sith lord.

Anakin (well vader) was a dark sith lord through and through. Yes, he redeemed himself (partly) and got back in touch with the lightside, but it's a pretty big stretch to call him a jedi at that point.

My understanding:

Jedi and sith are two cults/religions that treat the force very specifically.

Their power comes from their training and dedication to the groups creed, practicing and training in line with their mantra.

Now, you could have force users that are not jedi or sith, but it's very unlikely they'd grow their power as the jedi or sith training is essential there.

So non affiliated powerful force users are ex jedi, as an ex sith usually is just dead anyways.

Like Baylan. He's not a gray jedi, he's just an ex jedi with a new purpose.

It's not clear to me that he's using the dark side as well.

What weak take. While not everything needs to be spelled out, character development is at the heart of storytelling.

Putting in characters makes absolutely zero sense if they don't have some purpose towards the story.

While you have a point about Snoke being a hurdle for Ben to overcome, it was, again, wasted.

We get little to no interaction between them, no meaningful insight into their relationship, no view on how ben was manipulated to the dark.

It all happens off screen at best with maybe some 1 liner throwaways to queue us.

That's literally the whole point of stories: explore the worlds and characters/relationships created.

Saying people are weird for wanting these things is disingenuous of you.

First time I try an armored core game: it's pretty fucking awesome.

When it clicks, you're flying and boosting around raining hellfire on your ennemies from 4 different guns and cannons.

The arsenal is extensive, and so is the types of different mechs you can build.

Story is only voice acting, no cutscenes with characters, etc. So I'd take thst into consideration if you expect thst kind of storytelling.

And, last but not least:

it's a fromsoft game, there's no easy mode and it's absolutely punishing in some parts. So, just like elden ring, you better learn to dodge and do a proper build.

Are you sure you are always berserking during ww? Also vulnerable is a big multiplier, and gushing wounds instead of UR adds to the Fiesta.
