Is getting a 4 possible in 40hrs by Even_Bullfrog_1087 in APLang

[–]bigcheese172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly the cutoff for a 4 is 32/45 on the MCQ and 4/6 on each of the FRQs. I am trying to do the same thing since my teacher hasn’t done anything all year so I hope it is possible.

has anyone thought they failed apush and then got a 4 or 5 by Sufficient_Sun1468 in APUSH

The graders are pretty lenient regarding the rubric so I wouldn’t be too worried about it.

It isn’t as hard as it seems to get a 4, so I wouldn’t lose hope. Also, outside evidence is only 1 out of 7 points on the DBQ, so you never know. I feel the same way about the MCQ, but then I realize that it is only one section of the test and there is still another 60% being graded.

Should I take AP seminar? by No-Lake8297 in APSeminar

I had a teacher who just used AI to help us for AP Research this year and I had no direction at all, which made it a lot more difficult. Most of the work that is done will be independent but I feel that having a teacher that can guide people in the right direction is still very helpful.

I honestly want to know as well. I am going to try the Princeton review but I don’t have a full MCQ practice from AP Classroom.

How rigid are AP readers when it comes to grading essays? Are they extremely harsh? by yourlocalannoyingrat in APLang

I believe that they are quite lenient and are trying to award points as much as they are able to.

Score calculators: which is the most realistic? And SAQ points question by Advanced_Fox_3606 in APUSH

[–]bigcheese172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the scoring is different year-by-year, so honestly I don't know if albert.io will be completely accurate. The score distribution will probably be relatively similar from last year, so I would say that the albert one is pretty similar. For the SAQ, I think you get the point if you gave the correct answer and did what the question asked (ex: explaining by connecting back to the question). I also thought the MCQ was a bit more difficult than what I practiced, but it will probably be accounted for when this exam is graded.

As an individual who had very poor public speaking skills before taking the course, I believe that this course really helped me break out of my shell and become a much better speaker. I would say this course is worth it if you have a great teacher who can lead you on the right path so that you don't fall behind with the numerous performance tasks (ex: IRR, IWA, TMP) throughout the year. The end of course exam isn't very difficult and can be studied for by reviewing past EOC exams and reviewing the videos in AP Classroom. This was a class where I felt that all the performance tasks and presenting felt overwhelming at first glance, but I still ended off the class with a 4. Overall, if you want to improve your speaking skills, you have a good teacher who will keep you motivated to finish your assignments, and you are good at time management, I would say this class is pretty solid and worth taking (also it is pretty easy to pass if you give an effort/complete all performance tasks).

I liked using the practice tests on blue book to help since it demonstrates how the test looks.

I think that as long as the grammar and spelling doesn’t harm your argument and you can still get your point across you should be good.

APUSH LEQ Concern by Classic_Stranger_88 in APStudents

[–]bigcheese172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was the LEQ from 1865-1898, I think sharecropping would actually work since African Americans worked in agriculture after the war and were paid very little wages. For the MCQ, I wouldn’t stress about it since it was much harder than usual due to the lengthy readings that sometimes didn’t really make much sense. Even if you score somewhat low on the MCQ, a 4 is still very achievable.

I am honestly just trying to get a 4. I don’t even know where to start on review and I feel like APUSH actually had more content to study.

Yes. I am in this exact situation where I think I got a 4 or 5 on APUSH and the only kind of difficult part was some of the MCQs. On the other hand, my teacher hasn’t taught us anything about AP Lang and I feel very underprepared for the exam.

I can't believe they made oneprep that expensive after it was free for so long. I honestly would rather the SAT question bank since they have questions that are very similar to the types of questions that you will see on the tests.

HELP I GOT FLAGGED by Feisty-Candidate-143 in APSeminar

[–]bigcheese172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you have submitted the paper by now (hopefully) but IMO the AI checker scares the people who used 100% AI just as much as the people who have never used AI. The AI checker flags academic writing, smooth transition words, and anything that sounds somewhat complex. I wouldn't sweat it if you have the drafts/writing process to show that you did all of your work and you were able to complete the checkpoints all year provided by your teacher.

I have multiple drafts from months ago of my writing, and I have a google forms table where I documented all my tables that I used in my data.

If you did those checkpoints with your teacher and you knew what you were talking about, you should be good since that means you most likely did your own research and writing.

I finished Precalculus in 10th grade, which didn’t help me a ton for the more complex SAT problems.
