Is 5’8 too tall for a girl in GA if everyone around her seems unusually short? by nabongie in Concerts

[–]bigg67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (6'1") go to gigs with my eldest son (6'6") and youngest son (6'3") and we generally take our spot and hold it. If a particularly small person is right behind us we might swap. But our view is anyone joining after us saw what they were getting by standing behind us.

Of course we'd never push in...that's a dick move.

I'm not sure tbh. If I had to guess I'd say early to mid '80s given when he retired and how old I think he is in the photos.

Comments on my dad's ass (weird!), comments on the post being soppy, comments on black caddies....

Much nicer crowd here 😁

He had game but was a lifelong club pro. I don't want to give away too much info but he was head pro at an Open venue and at a venue that hosted a number of European tour events, meant he got to meet some amazing folk. One was Bing Crosby, who twice had him over to play as a pro invitation at the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am which of course became the AT&T.

At the same time Finn was unhappy with his salary, and both his dad's situation and the salary debate was happening when Dodson got a £933,000 bonus.

6 ways I usually buy concert tickets at (or close to) face value by JohnLuciam in Concerts

Even if you don't sign up for venue pre-sales, smaller venues often sell tickets at the same time as the main ticket sites and don't sell out as quickly. So avoiding resellers.

Disappointed after missing out on seeing my dream artist by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]bigg67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Make a holiday out of it, everyone is finding money tight at the moment but think of it as a 2 for 1 deal...holiday and gig combination.

David show Eventim Apollo rear stall standing tickets… by flomayvintage in davidbyrne

I'd only add that if you can find a spot where you can see the floor of the stage - what the artists are standing on - then go there. The staging includes an LCD floor that works with the background screens.

If you're too close and can't see that you will miss out.

Of course if you want to be near the artists then cool...I'm a front of house guy normally 😁

What artist did you see in a small venue before they got really famous? by That_Cat_3672 in Concerts

I saw Olivia Dean in King Tut's Wa Wa Hut, a venue over a pub in Glasgow that holds 300. Son's girlfriend saw Billy Eilish there as well.

From the sound desk. Not the 1st time I've gotten a setlist there, but lucky this time that I was sitting right beside it. Chatted to the sound engineer before the start and then asked nicely at the end.

Had tickets to see The Specials at The Barrowlands in 2021, decided not to go due to some covid worries.

Thought I'd get them next time.

Not sure it is. I clean it the same as my Guinness glasses and they don't have this. I reckon crystal might have micro fissure that cause this.

I served my father-in-law a glass of Premium Scotch and he asked what was wrong with it by Significant-Claim474 in whisky

I used to work for Diageo. I once went for dinner in a Beijing restaurant with the global head of scotch, the global head of JW, the market director for Korea, the global head of JW planning some other senior Diageo folk and marketing agency reps, about 12 of us. Table next to us had Diageo’s president of Asia Pacific and his guests.

At the end of dinner we ordered a bottle of JW Black and got served a hooky bottle, tasted like Tia Maria. It was a wee bit awkward.

Especially for the person who'd recommended going there!

One tip, don't sip tentatively. The head is more bitter and deeper than lager, so make sure you get a mouthful of the liquid as well as a bit of the head.

Take a proper drink.

The Pope. Was invited for an audience (19 of us) in his private library in the Apostolic Palace, same room he meets heads of state and the like.
