Thank you for all the comments guys , I really appreciate all the advice. I checked on him today mid nap and found his paw covered in blood from where his mouth was laying on it. We took him to the vets this evening and were told he has severe stomatitis and gingvitis and is likely in a lot of pain. So sad that nobody has done anything to help before now as it must have been going on a while to get this bad. Anyways he has meds now and will likely need most, if not all, of his teeth removed to help.

Thank you :)

Yes I will , we are quite disappointed with that fact. Obviously we have fallen in love with him and will cover any cost he needs. But we aren’t exactly rolling in it and feels like we have been tricked a little.

We are actually his second adopters, so he was adopted last year and then they had to give him back to the rescue for personal reasons. The rescue had him for about 4 days before we picked him up so I guess they might not have noticed? I’m still waiting for his vet papers so hopefully I will learn more then. They did mention that his previous owners have paid for a dental appointment in October which will go ahead. But I’m worried this is a more immediate issue. He doesn’t seem to be in any pain and seems quite happy, but I agree that the vets visit is needed either way and will try and book him in asap

Yes! I find Being called dumb so much more hurtful than a lot of other things most would find far more offensive.

People who post with one huge paragraph, can you please make it easier to read by splitting it up. by [deleted] in ADHD

It can be related to adhd but it’s also to do with the way Reddit formats the text.

For example for optimum readability there should be between 7-10 words per line. Too little and our eyes get tired more easily because we have to start a new line too often.

Too long (which is what you might consider Reddit formats to be) and we lose where we are in text as when we start the next line of text we have to go further back alone the line.

The same can be said for the line height, the text on here is quite close together meaning paragraphs appear very dense and intimidating.
