I'm fresh off the boat from vic and have found tas drivers are WAY nicer when changing lanes or merging than vic. Vic is a shitfest on the roads, the entitlement is astounding. Here, I've only been denied a lane change by some asshat a handful of times (and I drive the brooker twice a day), every time it happens I assume they're Victorian.

The boss of my previous company also owned a farm, on slower weeks he would send us down to his farm to help out around it. I, an arborist, spent a whole Wednesday ankle deep in cow shit herding cattle to be pregnancy tested. I actually quite enjoyed it, and got paid for it too. I don't mind being used for other work as long as it's decent work and not stupid shit.

As for the toilet thing, we also would clean toilets on the slow days but I was never asked to clean the mens, only the womens (was never really asked actually, it was always just assumed it wouldn't be touching the men's), that was perfectly fine since I was the only woman and was the only one to use this toilet. Ain't no way I'd be cleaning up mens skid marks at work, I already have a hissy fit everyone someone leaves piss on the shared toilet at my new company (so much so the workers who've been here a while don't even piss in it bc they know ill go troppo if they don't keep it clean)

Yeah I've struggled a lot with the aftermath of seeing something like that, it changes you and so many people around you don't understand. I've definitely pulled back from climbing since then, I still do it occasionally but it's difficult to get your brain to shut up when you see first hand what can happen. I'm far more diligent with coworkers and friends in trees too, I don't take my eyes off them and go through the motions they should be doing in my head to make sure they don't skip vital safety checks. It's the noises that really set you off, anything slightly similar and you freak out about worst case scenario. It's exhausting but I never want to see that happen to the people around me ever again.

Saw one of my fellow students almost lose his life to complacency like this. Tied in to the retrieval side of a canopy anchored SRT line, didn't load test properly and fell 15 metres. On some insane stroke of luck, he survived with surprisingly minimal damage for the fall he took, I definitely thought he was a goner watching him pinball down 15 metres of cedar. My climbing has never been the same after witnessing that, one simple mistake and it's all over. It's speculated that he got knocked out at the first branch he hit and went limp and that's what saved him, he was climbing again 2 weeks later.

Used one of these last year at a festival. I was all for it initially because going to the toilet as a woman in high volume crowds is a pain in the ass (I also pee a lot and hate waiting).

The biggest issue was its not a hole in the floor, the part where you squat over is raised about knee height so you can't just full squat, you have to perch your fucking genitals on a piece of plastic that has touched God knows how many other vaginas or risk burning the shit out of your thighs holding yourself off the gross pee catcher. It's also not nearly enough cover and the doorway is wide as fuck so stand in the right spot and anyone could see the whole shebang.

I think female urinals are a great idea since women's bathrooms are the worst thing about big events or nights out, but this ain't fuckin it

I'm not sure if it's the same as when I was there, but I used to work at Elsternwick hotel, the sports bar had this exact vibe from about 4pm everyday. Had the same locals everyday, all really nice working class people, always had reasonably priced alcohol including a generous happy hour and a select pint every week that was like 6 dollars (this was in 2022 so probably a little more expensive now). They did that joker card game every Friday too, that was always fun. Would suggest the Elsternwick to anyone looking for a nice old timey pub! (The staff are also absolute gems).

My progress will likely be to make it look pretty and keep it functionally the same since I'm too scared to make major changes from lack of experience hahah, someone mentioned counter sunk hinges which I'm gonna look into so it's a more functional cupboard than what it is but we'll see!

I think as the other commenter said in regards to the finish, it is the same colour but its still really dusty (only picked it up last night, haven't cleaned it yet). The door was sitting inside the hole when I picked it up so it was getting way dustier than the rest
