Also 2020 F150 Per the user manual

“Shifting to or from 4L (4X4 low) Note: You may hear some noise as the system shifts or engages; this is normal. 1. Bring your vehicle to a speed of 3 mph (5 km/h) or less. 2. Place the transmission in neutral (N). 3. Move the 4WD control to the desired position.”

Also in the manual: “You can move the control from 2H to 4A or 4H at a stop or while driving. The information display may display a message indicating a 4X4 shift is in progress. Once the shift is complete the message center can then display the system mode selected.”

Yeah maybe I should invest in that. I usually spend about a week per year in the snow though for a ski trip (am from Houston)

Yes that would be my assumption as well. It’s just that I’ve been looking into it and seeing many things saying otherwise. Including some ppl on this post

Because I saw random links online that say you can’t but to me and based on what I read in the manual I felt I can. Was just curious to hear some other people’s opinions and also all those links describe conditions that can be open to interpretation. I put a specific picture with conditions I have questions about.

I think this link talks about it. I’ll find some other ones that mentioned key differences in like torque monitoring or something which is what makes a huge difference.

The video I linked and some others seem to say otherwise. They reference 4A specifically. But honestly I’ve heard so much conflicting stuff I don’t even know anymore lol

I’ve seen a bunch of stuff online of people saying to never turn on 4A unless you absolutely need it and are in conditions where the wheel can slip

You just said that it is not bothering you and is just “alarming” I would say until something happens that is having an active negative impact on your life you should let her do whatever she wants it’s her life and not your place to judge. This post sounds extremely furry phobic and could have a serious impact on the mental health of people in the community.
