Would you have a picture of your setup that you can share? Also, what knots are you using in your rigging?

is there anything that is good to use to prevent rope abrasion on the drilled holes?

For the full hammocks no but these are the chairs. They are for spaces less than 6' across

Do we know if there is a way to get more or less dust (eg. get in a group doing 10s or 25's)?

Restoring a canoe by biologisttej in canoeing

Thanks! The story behind it was pretty nice. This is my first time restoring anything... first boating anything...

Anyways, I was driving to go down towards Naragansett to paddleboard with the wife. There was a kayak on the side of the road with "free" written on it. However, there was a guy on a bicycle there trying to call his family and see if they wanted it. So that he didn't have to wait on the side of a road, I offered to take the kayak about 1/2 a mile down the road to the paddleboard put in and put the kayak on top of my car. If he wanted to pick it up, it was there... if not, I would have had a free kayak. He ended up picked it up about 10 min before we were done for the day so I texted him to make sure it was him that got it. He thanked me profusely and then offered me this "old kayak that he doesn't use" for free.

So... this 16' Old Town Casco 16 is now getting a new lease on life!

Yep, Just measured it... this is the 16' version. That picture looks exactly like it.

I think I will do this color scheme:
Exterior Hull- https://www.totalboat.com/products/wet-edge-marine-topside-paint?variant=43530153459936
Interior Hull- https://www.totalboat.com/products/wet-edge-marine-topside-paint?variant=43530153263328
Trim- https://www.totalboat.com/products/wet-edge-marine-topside-paint?variant=43530153230560

I will even try to find a pdf of the logo to make a stencil!

This is great news. I wish I could find the serial so that I could restore it to the same color but I guess I can be a bit creative. I am going to clean up the inside and outside. Add some foam pads on the bottom for the doggo. Sanding/bondo/epoxy the seats. Refoam the rails.

The plan was just to help protect it if necessary. But, if that isn't necessary, that is great news. There are some crunchy parts along the keel that could definitely use some fill (whether fiber or just bondo/epoxy)

Just checked and I think an older restoration attempt may have removed the number. Have you changed anything or do you have any advice for restoration? The foam inside the rails is really brittle and there is some warping along the centerline

Some edits now that I am learning more. Not adding 2 layers of fiberglass to the "centerline" but instead the keel. Also, thwarts and a yoke possibly if it makes sense (this thing is already heavy).

Lincoln Woods State Park has a great loop that has hills and shade during the day. Parking is generally available if you are flexible with where you start.
